Battery Offline - Still working but won't take charge / mode scheduler instructions

Hi All,

Bit of an odd one. System installed not too long ago.

I've noticed the battery being marked as 'offline' occasionally in the app / cloud portal, but it has typically come back to online status quickly.

Today, it has dropped to 'offline' status and is not coming back to 'online'. However, the battery is working in terms of taking charge from the inverter and discharging back to the inverter. The main issue is that I believe this 'offline' status is preventing the unit from taking mode scheduler or force charge instructions from the master inverter.

Both inverters remain in 'online' status.

Current status page from the cloud portal attached.

Any ideas?

Many thanks!

There were a number of cloud problems reported yesterday similar to this - Friday appears to be the 'doing maintenance day' on their cloud servers so hopefully all should be good again now.

Many thanks, Dave!

I'll assume maintenance should this happen and try to plan upcoming schedules on a Thursday. I'll probably go the Home Assistant route in the fullness of time, but one step at a time...

Hi, I have noticed this today. I have had the system since the start of the year and it has never been offline. Today it went about mid day and still not back, I’ve deleted and reinstalled the app, I have reset the system, I have followed instructions to reconnect with internet and nothing is working. App is offline but everything system wise seems to be ok. Dongle is just flashing red.

Any ideas?
I’ve tried connecting to the dongle and doing the ip address thing too and using a different device and nothing is working…:

If the red light on the dongle is flashing rapidly then it is now connected to the wifi, have you changed anything with your home setup - broadband, router, wifi names etc... - either way restart your router as that could be blocking it.
Don't forget that the inverter only updates it's state on the cloud every 5 minutes so you will need to allow time after you have done something (10 minutes) and check to see if it is now reporting status.

When the dongle is connected normally it flashes once per second and every 30 seconds(ish) you will see a green flash.

If it is still flashing red rapidly after you have restarted the router - try following this video to set it https://youtu.be/Gy8ASwQ984A

Hi again,

I'm still having the batteries being mostly offline issue (even though inverters are online). It is such a weird one, as most of the time when 'offline' (though not all) the battery still seem to accept the force charge instructions etc - that may be though down to it being the inverter that processes that instruction.

I've also noticed that there seems to be a link between whether the batteries are charging or discharging. If they are charging the batteries are more often 'online', if discharging, more often 'offline'. I'm not yet sure if that link applies all the time.

Any thoughts?

Thanks!

My batteries and inverter have been offline for the last couple of hours too. Everything else seems to be working normally.

Must be the app as mine is showing the same but everything is working i.e electricity being used is from the battey and not the grid. All lights on inverter dongle and battries as they should be.

Same here. WiFi showing online, but battery & inverter offline since around 3pm. No data through the API since then, and both app & web showing no data. Interestingly, some data is still getting through to the cloud because the power graph and various stats (e.g. SoC) on the inverter page has data past this point.

Finally got it working after changing settings in the router itself online. No idea why as absolutely nothing had been touched or changed.

Since it’s all been back online however, the app keeps showing battery and inverter offline but dongle is fine. It is very frustrating as no reason for it not to work. Seems to be a clunky system..

Ours too has been offline since around 1500hrs and still not back, no idea what is being used or what we are drawing from the grid…

Looking at another topic (viewtopic.php?t=33) it could well be that they've taken some of the site down for maintenance. I guess we'll just have to wait it out.

I’m hearing quite a few people reporting that their batteries have been reporting off-line, it sounds as if there is a problem with the Fox cloud or servers.

Same for me. Battery & Inverter have never been offline before but today just shows zero values for all parameters. I am away so cannot physically check the system.

I’m also offline…. Guessing it’s just the app and all is working as it should - but it is a guess

Mine is also showing as offline on the app but appears to be working at the inverter. I'm a bit new to all of this, it was only installed a couple of weeks ago.

Looks like it's back up.

I had this last night. It was definitely a cloud issue but despite this I was able to access and change mode scheduler to force discharge as normal in the evening.
