Hi
Everything was working fine until I got the versions below a short while ago - pushed out by either my installer or FoxESS without a request (this time!)
I now have the "No PV output/export when inverter is set to force charge mode and battery reaches or is at 100% during the scheduler period" issue which I believe has already been fixed on H1 Gen 1 inverters.
Can you advise if there's anything later than these please?
H1-5.0-E-G2 - Master : 1.23 Slave : 1.02 Manager : 1.38
Batteries - ECS2900-2 - Master 1.013 Slaves 1.10
Datalogger - W4 - 4.12
In the (continued but I believe promised?) absence of a FoxESS web support page with latest version and release notes perhaps a "sticky" post with a table all of the latest versions for each inverter and battery type would save you a load of individual requests?
Many thanks in advance,
Jim

Latest H1-G2 firmware has had a few updates, as usual there are no release notes - but with such a young product the latest versions are usually the best to be on.
Master 1.26, Manager 1.42 (Slave the same at 1.02)
Datalogger 4.13
Batteries ECS2900-2 Master 1.015, Slave 1.11
The latest battery firmware has changed the way residual power is reported, so rather than saying whats left in the battery it appears to be the maximum capacity the battery has when at 100% (like a state of health) - this hasn’t been confirmed by Fox, instead found by users but I would recommend holding off on updating them for a while until we know more (your current versions are stable).
The sticky page is a good idea, the only down side being the newer inverters H1-G2, KH and H3 Pro are changing regularly at them moment.
So thats a definite inverter upgrade required

Many thanks Dave - let's hope FoxEss catch up with their 2-day ticket response to the ticket I raised 3 days ago then

Hi,
I also am interested in updated to the H1-5.0-E-G2 firmware. I'm currently unable to set a charging period for my ECS2900-2 battery set (master + 2 extra slaves) from either the front panel, web or phone app.
My firmware versions are:
Inverter :
Master : 1.18
Slave : 1.02
ARM : 1.28
Battery:
BMS : 1.006
I'm not sure which versions numbers are relevant. Many thanks.

These are quite old firmware versions, I would recommend you upgrade your inverter and battery to the latest version.mrussell42 wrote: ↑Sun Sep 01, 2024 4:35 pm Hi,

You can either ask your installer to do it, or email Fox UK service include your inverter serial number and ask them to update your inverter and your battery firmware.
I had all mine updated again within the last 10 days.
Current versions (installed as at as at 2/10/24) appear to be :
H1-5.0-E-G2 (Gen 2 inverter) - Master 1.27 Slave 1.02 Manager 1.44
ESS2900-2 (ver 2) Batteries - Master 1.016 Slaves 1.13

Thanks but I've been on those since 2nd October - the Mode Scheduler bug still exists in those versions (PV output clipped when SoC reaches 100% as opposed to being used for house load and/or exported) - I went back to the "old" 2 force charge schedules for now......

Update - I added an extra ECS2900 slave to my stack today and Fox ESS have updated everything again. Versions (which I am assured are the latest) are now :

Batteries - ECS2900-2 - Master 2.000 Slaves 1.13
Datalogger - W4 - 4.13
If/when we get some sun again I'll be able to test whether the "if under mode scheduler battery Max SoC reaches 100% DURING a forced charge slot (it's fine if it's already at 100% SoC when a forced charge slot starts or if the "old" 2 forced charge slots are used regardless of SoC) then PV output is clipped to 0 instead of being used for house load then export" has been fixed.....

Hi
My system has was installed a little over a month ago. My Firmware was updated on Tuesday 19th Nov to the same at JimH's above. I have the same Inverter but a different battery model and datalogger FW version.
H1-5.0-E-G2 - Master : 1.29 Slave : 1.02 Manager : 1.44
Batteries - EP5 - BMS : 1.003
Datalogger - W4 - 4.12
I have had problems ever since the firmware update. Has anyone else has problems or similar problems to the below?
During the past 3 nights (the start time is not consistent) since the update the battery has started charging from the grid to 60% and stopping at 60% each night. During that time the power in the battery has not been used to supply my house, until up to 12 hours after the battery initially started charging from the grid. For example, on 19th Nov the battery started charging from the grid at 21:00 and it wasn't until 09:03 on 20th that power from the battery was powering my house again. During that time the battery level was maintained at 60% and the load was being supplied from the grid.
There are no force grid charging settings and no active mode scheduler operations set to account for this charging from the grid. To me it appears to be a problem with the firmware as it was not doing this when I was on inverter firmware Master : 1.18 Slave : 1.02 Manager : 1.28 prior to the 19th Nov.
Fox are investigating this currently but I was wondering if anyone had encountered this before and had any recommendations on what might be causing this, remedies?
Thanks
Jordan

I've found that a full system shutdown and restart (including batteries) can help/sometimes be necessary after a G2 inverter firmware update - have you tried that?Jordan wrote: ↑Fri Nov 22, 2024 11:06 am Hi

Hi Jim
Thanks for the reply, I've not tried that, I'm fairly new owner of one of these systems. Is that just a simple... find the power isolator for the system and turn it to the off position and then back to the on position?
Thanks

Thanks Jim, I've followed that video and have shutdown and restarted my system. Hopefully my issue won't occur tonight. Jordan
A quick update on my issue...
The full system shutdown and restart resolved the grid charging to 60% issue.
The power in the battery not being used to supply my house part of the issue was due to a software problem with the battery. By the inverters being on the most up to date firmware and the batteries being on this incorrect firmware, it was causing the batteries to appear to be in an idle state and neither charging or discharging. Fox say the issue is now resolved.
Over the past 48 hours everything seems to be working normally.
Just the “PV input clipped to 0 when battery reaches 100% SoC during a mode scheduler force charge period” bug to be sorted then - still waiting for newer firmware for that……
