Re: H3 12kw 3 Phase unequal/max load question

Hmm ok, it looks like you are running in EPS mode which is good for when your incoming grid fails as it will continue to run, the down side is you lose the 'top up' from the grid which stops the overload.

Yes absolutely agree - option 1 is the place to start !

Re: Fox Cloud 2.0 Dashboard Data and Graph Data

Sorry I should have said the graph page, the statistic values shown there are cumulative but the graph is power over time (i.e. your daily usage)

There is definitely something wrong with the placement of the CT clamp if the load is reading as negative, something is generating power that is making ...

Re: Being able to see my load/usage in the app

Hi yes if this is a solar only inverter such as an F/S or T series the inverter does not provide any information about load or grid consumption without the optional meter (Chint) or a CT clamp fitted.

I can’t specifically comment on the price but in Europe the Chint meter is approx £100 ($130) plus ...

Re: Dual Hybrid Inverter Setup with Single Battery

No you would need to have a battery stack of (approximately) the same size on both if you are running in parallel.
The system when running in parallel treats the batteries as a single stack and tries to maintain the SoC’s, charge and discharge rates to harmonise their use.

Re: onduleur & batterie

It is mandatory for safety purposes, the system may work ok without out it but it is better for the comms if there is a ground (GND) connection as the cable shield will be connected to this.

Re: onduleur & batterie

Ok,thanks - just be sure as it is a single battery you have connected the 2 supplied parallel plugs into the Link IN and Link OUT ports.

I can't see it on the photo but also there should be a ground wire between the EP5 ground terminal and the ground terminal on the right side of the H3 inverter

Is there anything unique about the system, are the communication leads and the power leads from inverter to battery standard length and as supplied with the inverter - the fact it happens when you try and force charge makes me wonder if there may a problem with the DC cables (the maximum length is 3 ...

Re: Fox Cloud 2.0 Dashboard Data and Graph Data

The information shown on the house is the instantaneous data and is current power in kW i.e. you are using 0.46kW of power and if this continues as is for one hour your house load would be 0.46kWh.

The graph is showing cumulative statistics which is the kWh per item so far today (Energy) i.e. you ...

Re: Ev home charger scheduling issue

Yes on the web I would expect you to see the schedule item for ‘Force Charge’ and you would normally set a minsoc of 10% and a maxsoc of 100% - fingers crossed !

Re: Modbus adapters - external inverter

You don’t need to have the adapter near the inverter (although you could have it outside in an IP65 enclosure) - the RS485A/B pair is a differential balanced pair and as long as you use good quality cable (cat5/6) you can run a cable from the meter/ct connector (pins 3 &4 RS485A/B) to a suitable ...

Re: Ev home charger scheduling issue

I’ll be honest i’m stumped, the way it is working for you is not what we normally see.

What app are you using to set the schedule ?, the screen shots you have posted are different to the normal V2 app i’m familiar with - have you tried setting schedules on the Foxcloud website rather than the app ?

Re: onduleur & batterie

A code 14 usually indicates a comms failure between inverter and BMS - which battery model / inverter do you have ?,

The latest generation EP5/11 are wired in parallel when you have more than 1 battery and you must make sure the termination plugs have been fitted correctly.

On the HV batteries ...

Re: H1 Hybrid (US series) - Grid CTs show zero energy

Ok thanks for the clarification that’s not something we see over here ;)

can you let us know how you get on - i’m intrigued how the inverter handles the CT2 & 3 possibly lumping them together in the app as ‘external PV’

Re: H3 12kw 3 Phase unequal/max load question

If you are seeing overload i’m wondering if your inverter is wired for your load to be in EPS mode i.e. if the grid fails the inverter continues to provide power seamlessly, when it is wired in it’s normal operating mode you would expect any overload to be met by the grid and the inverter would ...

Re: H1 Hybrid (US series) - Grid CTs show zero energy

The US series is slightly different connectivity than we have here in Europe but the fundamental operation is the same.

The main CT (CT1) should be fitted on the main incoming live (hot) feed so that it can see all flow into or out of the house, but as you have a second solar system providing power ...

Re: Wiring for EV charge point

You want the second option with the Henley block that splits the feed before the inverter/consumer unit, that way the house load will not be affected by the EV and nor will the battery be discharged when the EV is discharging - however the EV can still make use of export to charge.

In the first ...

Re: Battery only staying between 80% and 100% during summer

It’s fine and quite normal in summer for your batteries to stay at a high soc, mine are typically 60-80% at the end of the day - I feed in everything I produce and charge every night on an EV tariff, whereas in winter i’m often down to below 20% at the end of the day; arguably you can occasionally ...

Re: My FOX system will not force discharge to grid during Octopus Flux peak evening time in Mode Scheduler

Looks good, the only comment I would make is you have set a MaxSoC of 90% in winter, ideally this should be 100%.

On Fox BMS the balancing of the pack takes place between 90-100% - and so if you leave it at 90% without ever charging to 100% the SoC accuracy would steadily drift out and you would ...

Re: Ev home charger scheduling issue

Just to double check that you are using ‘scheduler’ and not the charge periods.

Often it’s simple things like an overlap with another scheduled item i.e. if a previous schedule finishes at 00:30 and the next starts at 00:30 the first schedule will actually finish at 00:30:59 which can overwrite the ...

I have a KH7 installed with a WiFi dongle to access the Fox Cloud. I'm also a seasoned HA user.

I want to add a Modbus adapter but cannot find any info on the hardware needed and how to physically conect it to the KH7.

Can you advise? (BTW I'm totally ok with the HA side).

Re: My FOX system will not force discharge to grid during Octopus Flux peak evening time in Mode Scheduler

On the EDDI there isn’t an easy fix as it will see the export and turn on, you can disable it during the Flux period or it’s also possible to set a higher ‘export margin’ in the EDDI/Zappi settings so that it doesn’t switch on until it exceeds this value.

I also have an EDDI and use home assistant ...
