Re: EPS Setup for Whole House Supply
Ok sorry, I should have followed your link, I assumed it was the forthcoming Power cube that is an inverter and 'hub' built in together and then sits on top of an ECS(EQ) battery stack. I haven't heard anything about the Hub being released here in the UK, and I would have thought with our regulatory ...

Re: EPS Setup for Whole House Supply
Just going through the spec and install of PV, H1-6.0-E-G2, EP11 and looking for whole house EPS. I saw the US have a great device similar to some other manufacturers the 'FOX HUB G2', it seems like this is coming to the UK which is fantastic news, but anyone got more info and when this is likely ...

Re: Melted battery connector
You are lucky that you noticed it, and looking at the picture it appears that the front battery connector hadn't been pushed all the way home as it would have been held by the clips like the rear connector - if the connection was then loose, there would have been arcing when high loads switch in or ...

Re: T15 in parallel
If you only have the one RS485 then it doesn't support parallel running - you may still be able to wire up the system in such a way that you have 2 inverters on separate circuits but it is not ideal - it still would be worth checking your inverter serial number with you local Fox service so you know ...

Re: T15 in parallel
The later T series inverters have a 3rd RS485 port for connecting themselves in parallel - you will need to email your local Fox service with your inverter serial number and get them to confirm you have a T series that will support this function.

Re: H1 G2 5kw hybrid inverter noise
If you install outside you’ll need some kind of cover to avoid direct weather contact and preferably insulation around the battery in winter - some people build small wooden enclosures with ventilation and they add insulation in winter - works well if you have the space and time. Back to your o ...

Re: Battery discharging to 10% in an hour
No I think it’s best to leave it the way it is, the charge periods can only charge or hold the discharge, whereas the mode scheduler can really change the behaviour as well as force the batteries to discharge. There’s no obvious load at 5am so hopefully a few days of running like this will give you s ...

Re: Battery discharging to 10% in an hour
I can’t see much wrong with that trace, the load appears to be showing correctly which it wouldn’t if the CT’s were the wrong way round and the battery is taking charge when there is spare solar and you are exporting (a little) as well. It is possible that one CT phase is wrong but i’m not seeing evi ...

On that first image, when you swipe left can you scroll up the page and you should find a graph at the bottom of the page that looks like this -
That will be really useful to see as it shows your house load, solar, grid use and battery together

Re: Battery discharging to 10% in an hour
You’ve set it to charge the battery between 3 & 5am, and then not to use the battery at all from 5 til 7 which will stop it discharging - but the big question remains why was the battery discharging after 5am when there is no house load, that is usually a sign of reversed CT clamp if there was no l ...

Re: Battery discharging to 10% in an hour
Ahh ok, it's a 3 phase house - basically the same principle but you have 3 CT clamps that measure the load on each phase. It could be one CT clamp, 2 or all 3 that are the wrong way round, so yes best to call your installer and they can test each phase to make sure it is reading correct. Once the CT ...

Re: Battery discharging to 10% in an hour
Yes that looks very much like the CT clamp is pointing in the wrong direction - you have 2 options, call the installer and ask them to rectify it, or you could locate and turn the clamp around yourself, it's not too difficult, If you post a photo of your meter cupboard i'll confirm where it is - the ...

Re: Battery discharging to 10% in an hour
You’ve not said which system it is, is it a solar inverter with an add on AC battery, or is it a hybrid with solar and (now) batteries?. I really need to see your energy flow screen from either the app or website, but it sounds very much like the CT clamp has been placed in the wrong orientation - ...

Re: Trickle charge vs Force charge
The BMS is quite good at managing things, but a few people (including me) do some kind of battery management - usually using home assistant which does all the maths for you and can control it precisely. I've found over time that you can charge at full power but if you allow it to charge at 4A (or 5A ...

I told my installer to add an additional Henley block so that the system is wired that the EV battery is connected to the grid before the battery connection and load monitoring CT for the ...

The statistics you have mentioned don't get populated for inverters that are not hybrids with energy storage - i'm not entirely sure why, but that comes direct from Fox themselves.

They are LifePo4 (LFP) the label says Li-ion as that is their category, it is a type of Lithium Ion battery but they are unquestionably Lithium Ion Phosphate.

Re: Inverter restarting when exporting
That suggests your local grid frequency / voltage are outside of the safety params and are being exceeded when you are exporting. Use the Fox website and in the lower graph select the params RVolt and RFreq for a day where this has happened - if you could post them here so we can see the traces. Can ...

Just to double check you, you said pins 23, 24 - I think you meant 24(A) & 25(B) where 24 goes to pin 4 on the meter and pin 25 goes to pin 3
You need to make sure you have set the meter up as modbus, id 001 and 9600, N, 8, 1

Re: Hello from the East Midlands!
The app reports the lowest cell voltage, whereas modbus is reporting the BMS temperature which will be 5-10C higher. The H1 (Gen 2) & KH inverters don’t currently report the BMS low and high cell temps, but this might arrive in a future release as Fox are changing the modbus registers to align to t ...
