Re: Force charge not working

You can’t have an active schedule and control with home assistant, it’s one or the other.

If you want to use home assistant to control your inverter, in the app set the work mode to Self Use, that will disable the schedulers master switch and you will be able to change work mode, force charge, set ...

Re: OVO EV Plan - looking to manage EV charging without draining battery

The Free period and after 2pm looks good,

Nothing wrong with your midnight backup workmode would work but my initial thought with such a low tariff is would it not be easier to set a force charge with a lower charge rate (and/or with a lower charging cut off soc).

Re: EP12s or EQ Stack

The EP12’s are obviously heated and so being in an unheated garage will operate better on the colder winter days, once the temp gets below 10C they would be very badly throttled unless heated. The EP12 has to be mounted to a wall so they do take up a lot of wall space but they don’t take up that ...

Re: Fox battery 2.2 app update

The Grid Charge settings are now under Device, Battery and you’ll see them at towards the bottom of that page (they are called Force Time Charge).

If you want to find the Scheduler that used to be under Quick Settings, that is found by clicking on Work Mode and then click on the 2 arrows to the ...

Re: How to get accurate load data from my Foxess f5000

Solar only inverters don't have a meter/ct as standard and so if you want to display your house load you will need to fit one.

Looking at your setup the inverter is very close to the existing meter and so a CT clamp is all you would need (another meter is unnecessary).

A CT clamp should be clipped ...

Your Export Limit being wrong i’m not sure, do you have any VPP controls set up, or possibly a typo ?

Re: Reserve SoC - what does it mean, really?

My problem is that I seem to have been able (accidentally) to set the battery reserve to 60% ~ and I cannot put it back to the 15% that I would like it to be..

Has anyone a clue how to do that?

Re: ATS with EPS Whole House

Really could do with seeing a schematic of the system to be sure, but from what you have said, it sounds like you had an earth bonding problem when running on EPS.

Regulations will depend on the country you are in, for the UK it is illegal to be connected to the grid whilst running on EPS and you ...

Re: Expectations of a soon to be installed system, was I unrealistic?

It may be by DC coupling you are referring to PV, the answer to that is yes - any existing panels can be connected to the KH inverter, and it would make more sense doing that than having an older AC coupled system as you will only have one set of losses and full control over export i.e. the system ...

Re: Force charging to 100% causes battery to be idle and any Solar generated is not being used??

Hi and welcome to the forum,

Do you by chance have a H1 3.7-WL inverter (it will have a small aerial attached for the internal wifi connection) ?

This was a bug noticed recently on that model, and JimH has just posted to say that the latest firmware resolves a problem with excess solar being shut ...

Thanks Jim, still not enough solar for me here to test it - but glad you got it resolved.

Re: Froced Charging/Discharging

A KH10 can both import (battery charge) and export (PV or force discharge) at a maximum power of 10kW - there are many reasons why it could be lower than that but that is the maximum the system is rated for and so unless there are some other special mitigating circumstances your wiring and breakers ...

Re: H3 12.0 E Cannot enable remote control

Re: Energy Stats app, solar today not showing

When solar is connected via a separate inverter the Fox cloud does not maintain statistics for it, only the real time 'power' view is available.

I heard from Al over the weekend that the KH inverter with latest firmware and W6 datalogger has started to maintain CT2 (meter2) stats but they are not ...

Re: Error Code 1,26 & 27 appearing randomly

ok, nothing obvious there so whatever it is must be a fast transient - I think the best thing to do is to raise it with your installer or a support ticket with Fox to investigate.
There are inverter settings (set as part of the local safety regs) which need to be checked and more importantly ...

Re: Error Code 1,26 & 27 appearing randomly

The errors are indicative of loss of grid, if you are not resetting your MCB/RCD’s afterwards is there any indication of a brownout i.e. a rapid loss of voltage.. the RVolt graph may not catch it if it is very quick but it is entirely probable that uit occurs on another phase so check your SVolt ...

Re: Hybrid EPS whole-home wiring topology + PV string split into PV1/PV2 — sanity check

This isn’t a quick answer and really needs a much more detailed analysis of your system showing all phases, neutral and earthing before it can be answered safely.

I’m not seeing an earth rod in any of those diagrams, when the grid fails you have to assume that you have completely lost the incoming ...

Re: H1 5 e g2 inverter restarting after connecting ep11, error 194

You should have everything powered off (inverter PV isolated, AC isolated i.e. inverter screen should be blank) and also the battery DC switch open before you install the EP11.

The EP11 battery must have both of the parallel plugs fitted to the Link IN / Link OUT ports.

The power on sequence is ...

Re: WiFi dongle

All of the wifi dongles are 802.11b/g/n (2.4ghz), like you i've installed a wifi repeater and disabled the 2.4ghz band which has been very stable.

The other option is to replace it with a LAN datalogger if you have ethernet close to the inverter.

Re: AC or DC coupling

To do what you are trying to do you would need DC coupled panels to the Fox system, that's the only way it can hard limit the amount of export by derating the MPPT's

Having DC coupled would improve your efficiency slightly as you'd only have one set of losses from the single inverter.

Re: H3-15.0 Smart 250W stand by consumption

Thank you so much for the write up! That makes a lot of sense. I thought that it would have been already accounted for in the data sheet under Standby consumption but I guess it depends on the full setup. Yes I do see some constant drain from the grid (around 20-40W). I don't believe I have access ...

Re: H3-15.0 Smart 250W stand by consumption

ok thanks, all inverters do have a parasitical loss - these are the losses involved in maintaining their operation which is worse when there is no PV as that normally covers those losses first. These losses are usually 'added' to the load calculation but in essence it accounts for the power to ...
