Re: AC Chargers with existing PV array
Hi I checked my analysed data, my peak usage does not exceed 3KW but given the price difference between 3 - 5 KW, i get the advantages of servicing a higher demand when needed. I have now talked with an installer. He explained that the new AC Charger and existing Grid tied Inverter will both need to ...

Re: Fox ess hybrid 10.5 wifi problems
Hi Dave ... thought I would report back.. As mentioned splitting my router to broadcast 2G and 5G created a very poor network service. So I attempted to synchronise again using the Wifi Extender unfortunately the Dongle still would not accept a synchronised 2G, 5G service. I disconnected the Wifi ...

Re: AC Chargers with existing PV array
Thanks Dave
LOL I see what you mean - consider likely house load peak ! That is a very good point..
The price difference between 3 and 5kW isn't much anyway..
Really appreciated...

Re: AC Chargers with existing PV array
Thank you Dave Yes Solar produced this year is 1700. Estimated usage for current year 1000KW taking into consideration offset cost to house load needs.. Thanks for clarifying my considerations.. I am on Octopus 12mths Fixed Outgoing 15p KwH. I think it's worth getting a bigger batter if only to ...

Re: AC Chargers with existing PV array
Hi My current 2kW PV Fox ESS grid tied system currently has no battery backup. The system has been installed for a year now and has managed to produce 17kwh, thankfully my usage is 14kwh annually, so installing batteries to eliminate this bill altogether might be a good idea! I am interested AC ...

Re: Fox ess hybrid 10.5 wifi problems
Hi Dave Thanks for your speedy response. So double checking, at the mo I split my router l to create a dedicated 2G snd 5G network, creating havoc with the service. I am hoping the extender solution will eliminate the need to do that. Is that correct? Really appreciated thanks.. Judy FoxESS S2000 ...

Re: Fox ess hybrid 10.5 wifi problems
The only other thing I can think of is , some it gets confused with some routers / extenders as they have both wifi bands (2.4Ghz & 5Ghz) on the same SSID - the datalogger can only connect to 2.4Ghz - if possible can you try and disable the 5Ghz band or rename it so it has a different SSID to the 2 ...

Re: dip in load power
Just recently had my inverter upgraded from 1500kW to 2kW - believed it to be undersized. I have been recording the graphs, two of which is attached and noticed I am now getting negative zero load readings - which was not the case before. Can anyone explain what could be causing this.. and is it ...

Re: Load Power readings at zero
I appreciate your input. Since I have no response from my installers, I am now writing to Fox. I need to establish cause, as one week letter and still no graph indication that solar energy is being used by the home! In the absence of a response I think it is the installers. I am sure there must be a ...

Re: Load Power readings at zero
Thanks for your response... You can see from the graph, it appears the inverter is unable to hold its own peak of managing solar energy at 2500. Panels are 415kw (=2.07kw) I am told annual est. Solar generation 1848kw ..If the decision to undersize was based on efficiency would we not consider ...

Re: Load Power readings at zero
Thanks for your reply which is appreciated. I have 5 panels. I do not yet have a smart metre awaiting an install Is there a good reason why an installer would undersize the inverter? I can now see what the disadvantages are. Any thoughts on the dip in solar generation - the panels are all facing the ...

Re: Error - server with the specified hostname could not be found
Thanks for your reply. No there are no odd setting configurations on my phone, just a robust virus guard and VPN and once these are switched off there is no reason why the app should not work.. Never mind. the installer explained the App would not work on 5Ghz wifi, so naturally I assumed ...

Re: Error - server with the specified hostname could not be found
Found a very old phone Android version 8 on which the Foxess cloud app actually worked!
Appears the issue is not with my phone, the cloud app is not developed to work with anything above Android version 8 it appears.
If otherwise, please explain

Load Power readings at zero
My S Series1500 was installed a couple of days ago. I was advised that the house load power should be distributed for my use before any export of excess to the Grid. It was explained the feed in power and output power, which appear to be an equally shared distribution of power, meant that the house ...
