I have had my PV + battery system (see signature) for about 18 months and want to upgrade/tweak the setup, but the installer I used has ceased trading. I want to add a bit more battery flexibility, and am looking for a fairly local company to supply/install an upgrade.

I am looking to add an additional 4 x HV2600 batteries (giving the max supported for a single-phase setup), and upgrade the system firmware to enable forced export to the grid.

I didn't have an EV when the setup was installed, but do now, and have found that the Zappi Eco+ mode to feed excess solar to the EV doesn't work, and the energy flow is displayed backwards (import is displayed on Zappi as an export) - from reading the forum I suspect this is just a back-to-front CT clamp, but would like the installer to look at the issues during the battery installation visit.

If anybody has good experience of a company (pref. within an hour of Swindon) I'd be grateful if they could leave me some details (website would be ideal!)

Thanks,
Tony

Hi Tony,

I'm Exeter based but Swindon isn't too far away. You'll find my contact details here https://ecclessolar.com/

Do you know if you have V1 or V2 batteries?
Where are the batteries located?

Thanks,
Will

I’m getting net-eco to install my fox equipment. They are Chippenham based.

Hi Will,

thanks for responding so quickly. The batteries are the v2 version, and they are located in the integral garage, on a concrete floor. My expectation was that the additional batteries would be located beside the current 3 battery + BMS stack.

Coming all the way from Exeter would probably turn a fairly short job into an all-day one for you, so probably not ideal for either of us. I'm aiming to get at least 3 quotes, so I can send you a request if you'd like, but as I want to use the chosen installer to replace my original one it might be a bit far to come if I need a callout for a tricky problem in the future.

Cheers.
Tony

Thanks for the info. They're only 30 minutes from me, and look okay on Checkatrade, so I will probably ask them to quote for the job.

Thanks,
Tony

No problem at all, if you need me feel free to contact me.
Don't forget to advise the people you choose to buy the long cable kit and brackets for the batteries. So easy to overlook.
