Charge on app

PV, inverter and batteries work perfectly, but charge shows on App as coming from load rather than from PVs. Have been talking to Fox, but unresolved. Have tried reversing ct, which totally threw system. Any clues?

It sounds like the CT may be located in the wrong place - you would expect to find it clipped to the ‘live’ output feed of your smart meter.

Can you post a picture of where the CT is located along with an image from your app showing the real time data screen.

Many thanks, the ct for the inverter is the white one, the black one goes to ev charger. As I say system works perfectly, just doesn’t show the PV charge as coming from PV

Ignore screen grab of app, that was when I reversed ct at fox suggestion.

Your CT clamp is in the right place, but as you say the app is not showing any solar generation - the question is, is it a graphical 'app' problem or a system problem in which case we need to have a look at the solar output of the inverter.

Can you log into Foxesscloud.com instead, and go to the 'Device' page where it shows the 'Energy Flow' - and if you could screen shot that

You'll need to do this next bit whilst the sun is shining - at the bottom of that page there is an empty graph and you have a drop down select box - select PV1 power & PV2 power and if you could also screen shot that graph please.

Thanks for help. Not much sun around this morning, but here are the two device pages. Will wait for sun to do Pc1&2

No matter which way I look at it, not much sun this morning, the PV output registers as negative on the load rather than positive on the panels. It does work however ie charging my battery.

Ok I would normally say that the CT clamp is fitted the wrong way round as you are showing power coming from the house load which is impossible, but what throws me is that there is absolutely no activity showing from your solar - as you say there isn’t much today but i’d still expect 50-100w from your array.

The PV (solar) is an internal sensor to the inverter and if it is getting those measurements wrong then the only possible answer is that there is a fault within the inverter on it’s DC current sensor.

If it’s a relatively new installation you should contact your installer and let them handle it with Foxess support, or alternatively if you can get Foxess support to look at it, I think they will fairly quickly conclude it is a fault.

Thank you, sadly GETUK was my supplier/installer in 2021. The display fault has been present since installation. GETUK have now gone into liquidation, so I am attempting to get Fox Ess to sort the problem.

Ok, sorry to hear that - it does look to be a hardware fault, normally your installer would take it up with Foxess and if it is confirmed as a hardware fault Foxess would provide the kit for your installer to replace.

I have recently heard that Foxess diagnosed and attended a site to replace the inverter in similar circumstances so I would recommend raising a support ticket with Foxess, let them diagnose it and advise them of your circumstances, you never know - best of luck.
