Gen Load included in Home Load from external PV inverter - results in solar not used for battery or home load

Fox Ess H3 Smart 10k with GoodWe DNS G3 Single Phase Inverter

The Fox App is correctly showing the output from the GoodWe under Gen Load, but it is also adding to the Home Load

This show the Gen Load, the Load is the sum on Discharge (actual home load) and Gen Load:

Turning the GoodWe Invertor off via ac isolation it shows:

The PV was installed in the house as part of the build and goes to the main meter box outside, the Fox is installed in the garage next to the house electrical subboard. It is ac-coupled.

When there is sun, the solar gets exported to the grid rather than charging the battery.

Spoke to installer, they tried flipping the Meter 2 CT on the GoodWe output, same outcome.

Any ideas?

Most likely the position of the main meter (or CT1 R/S/T), as this is 3 phase you will have a meter that reads each phase but if the single phase inverter is up-stream of those meters then the inverter won't be able to see the effect that it is having and it will assume the power is being consumed by the house load. The 2nd CT looks to be reading ok.

The single phase inverter should be connected so the Fox main meter can see the power it is producing (but it cannot tell how much is being consumed by the house on that phase), CT2 tells it how much power is being produced by the single phase inverter and the inverter does some maths to work out how much is load, how much is exporting etc..

That helps me very much in directing the installers to try and fix the issue.

I'm guessing there isn't an option to tell the battery inverter to expect to find the actual additional power from the upstream connection?

No unfortunately not, anything upstream is outside of it’s measurements.
