Hello!
I think I heard somewhere (maybe during one of their videos) that Octopus have an extra geeky forum you can give ideas and discuss tech issues. Does anyone here know what I'm talking about, or how to get invited?
Here's what I would post right now:
Sometimes I see, when I look at my Intelligent Octopus Go bills, that the import rate has dropped to 7pm outside of the 11:30pm - 5:30am hours AND when my car was not even plugged in.
It is my understanding that it is good for Octopus, and the wholesale deals they make, to be able to dump power on (their) demand when it suits them. Well, especially in cloudy Winter time, I'd be more than happy to top up my 32kWh FoxESS battery stack at the low rate most times of the day. But the API seemingly does not supply this information on the fly, so my Home Assistant integration cannot react to it.
In fact, since I have an Ohme Home Pro charger, I don't think the 'Intelligent Dispatching' flag ever comes on. I am able to monitor when the charger starts charging, so I can go into Force Charge mode for the house when the car is actually charging in a bonus-slot.
If their API would tell me when they'd be happy to give me some 7p love even when my car battery is full, I'd take it and it would be good for both them and for me.

Thanks ... Is that entity binary_sensor.octopus_energy_electricity_xxxxxxxxxx_xxxxxxxxxxxxx_off_peak ?
For me, that does not reflect bonus slots. It only comes on 11:30pm and goes off 5:30am.
What kind of charger do you have?

Yes it is using the Offpeak Flag that is sent to the meter for billing
So this bypasses the any instruction sent to the charger (Zappi Glo)

Yes, doesn't work with Ohme
Thanks though.

I just done a little reading up on it, seems such an odd thing.
I was thinking the Intelligent part is where Octopus control the charge, but seems Ohme has other ideas.

Since I have had some charging issues I have talked to both Ohme and Octopus and they both say that Octopus are the ones who send the slots so it's a total mystery why that flag on the API doens't change. That's why I want to find their tech forum. General support is useless at that level.
