H3-10.0-Smart Modbus help
Hi, anyone on here got this model Inverter? I've got the comms plug (rectangle, large thing) and connected to the only two pins that mention 485A/B to a RUNCCI YUN USB to RS485.

When I try adding to Home Assistant, I get the following error. I've tried switching cables but no go still. So guessing either the wrong pins connected to... anyone know for sure?

Code: Select all

Error connecting to your adapter or inverter. Ensure the adapter is properly configured and is correctly wired to your inverter (see the setup link above), then try again. Details: Modbus Error: [Input/Output] Modbus Error: [Invalid Message] No response received, expected at least 4 bytes (0 received)
Re: H3-10.0-Smart Modbus help
On the COM connector you need to connect to the pins labelled EMS485A/B where A is connected to the A pin of the USB adaptor and B goes to B.

Once you’ve got the wiring correctly you have to download the latest beta version of the home assistant integration as the H3 Smart wasn’t supported in 1.13.6.

If you are not familiar with doing that - how to install a beta version in HACS:

Navigate to HACS (left navigation sidebar)
Search for "FoxESS - Modbus" and open the repository by clicking on it
Click on "Download" (bottom right corner)
Open the dropdown of "Do you need another version?"
Select the beta version v1.14.0b3
Click on "Download"

Thanks Dave, it seems this beta allows me to read the Modbus over LAN. I'm happy with that!
