I signed up with Amber and registered with smartshift 3 weeks ago and my system is still not on boarded. Amber is telling me that they are having issues with reading the SoC from Fox ESS and hence cannot on board my system. Have been waiting ever since and there is no update so far.
I have KH9.9 with 9xEQ4800.

Hi Will,
I too have installed a Fox ESS KH-10 inverter and a 42 kw EQ4800 battery system on the 10th Nov.
I have issues getting the batter/inverter to force charge from grid - it only pulls in power from 2.2kw to 4.4 kw. On a rare occasion, it pulled in 5.6 kw and even 9.8 kw for a brief moment, then it went back to 4.4 kw.
I have escalated this to a Fox technician who has tried to upload software remotely and also checked all the parameters (eg; max feed in current - which is set at 48 Amps, sufficient for 10 kw power) but the problem still persists on Day 3 of the installation.
I have signed up for GloBird which allows for free power between 11 and 2 Am and the very reason I went with Fox is the fact that they offer a 10 kW inverter, which should in theory allow me to pull 30 kwh of free power from 11 to 2 pm (10kWx3hrs).
The fox guys says he is investigating the issue (suspects low ambient temp which is BS since it is 15 deg in Melbourne and the battery is rated for 0-55 deg.C).
Does anyone else in Melbourne have the same issue with a similar installation ?
All advise would be appreciated, thanks.

Awesome news. I'm hoping Amber is available to Central Queensland soon!
I have been trying to get Amber SmartSwitch operational with FoxESS KH9.9 (8kw) + EQ4800 (42kwh). It is turned on, but the SOC State of Charge is not functioning so it will not import my excess battery capacity up to the network. I only earn money with excess solar after 100% charge attained.
Amber customer service is telling me
Right now, the main hurdle we are facing is actually on the FoxESS side with how their system responds to control and data requests. This is causing SmartShift commands to be unreliable, and you may also notice intermittent connection issues in the Devices tab of the Amber app.
I completely understand this isn’t ideal, and it's definitely not the experience we want for you. Challenges like this can happen during beta integrations, but we’re actively working with the FoxESS team toward a stable solution. They have been advised of the underlying software issues on their end and fixing these is the key step before we can improve things further.
While we work through this, if SmartShift isn’t meeting your expectations, you can temporarily disable it via SmartShift settings in the Amber app.
That said, if you notice any issues with the automation, please use the Log an issue feature in the app. This log is closely monitored which helps us track, investigate and resolve problems much more effectively.
Is anyone else having same issue? Getting any other reply?
I also cannot log an issue as they mention above, I installed a new version of the app but still no "See Something Strange" hyperlink in my Future screen.
Does anyone else get this issue log feature?
Thanks
Jeff

Hey fellow Aussies,
I also got a KH9.9 and 41.93kWh (EQ-4800) battery installed this week and trying my best to set up SmartShift with no success.
I can see that SmartShift is trying to do something (adding some random time charge-discharge times in the Scheduler) but it is also MANUALLY SETTING THE MAXIMUM DISCHARGE CURRENT (Settings -> Battery -> Max Dischg Cur) to 0A, thus completely disabling my battery (including for self-consumption)!
I can manually reset it to 50A by physically inputting the new value on the Inverter, but the Amber integration is doing this dance multiple times a day (4 so far tonight!) and there is no API to automate it, so I am currently begging their customer support to disable SmartShift (with zero success so far, either by phone, email or JIRA ticket).
Overall, a very poor experience; both on the FoxESS side, not letting me control the max discharge current remotely; and the Amber side.
I'll update this thread when things change, but keen to hear other people's experiences and solutions (if any).
