Apologies -another newbie question! I've wired in my USR-W610 to my H1 Inverter and can log in and ping the converter OK and I set a username and password so I can login via its IP address using a browser from my windows pc. HA is running OK on a Raspberry pi for lots of other stuff. Then I followed Will Eccles excellent You tube video but I don't get any values in my HA Overview page ( see screenshot attached). I think I messed up by not adding the IP address to the secrets file correctly . Presumably this the IP address of the USR-W610, 192.168.1.229 in my case? Do I need to put the USR-W610 username and password in to? If so what's the format?
I did search around the forum and google for an answer but without success. Sorry yaml etc is rather new to me. I've attached excerpts from my secrets & config files below. Any ideas gratefully received. Thanks!
That was much easier. It seemed to complete OK but despite checking the port settings HA still doesn't report anything. I'm wondering if its a firewall issue or something? I can't see anything stopping it and I can still ping the USR OK.
The connection error I get is:
Connection Error
Error • Reported by FoxESS - Modbus
Error connecting to inverter (friendly name: "Woodhead"). Error reading registers.
Type: RegisterType.HOLDING; start: 36001; count: 3; slave: 247 from udp://192.168.1.229:502: Exception Response(131,3, IllegalAddress)
Hi, only just catching up - it looks like you've done the majority of the work.
You are getting a response its just that you are reading an illegal address which suggests that the inverter you have doesn't support reading from those addresses (they are the master / manager firmware version registers) but the address changes depending on your inverter model and firmware version (which I think is old).
Can you tell me which inverter your have and what your Master, Manager(ARM) firmware version are please.
No that's the table for all firmware available - your firmware versions are shown at the top of the Inverter Details page you'll see Inverter SN: xxxxx Site Name xxxxxx Datalogger SN xxxxxxx Inverter Model H1-5.0-E-G2 and there's a > to the right click that it will show your address and firmware versions.
Alternatively if you have the V2 app click on Device at the bottom and on the Inverter page click the serial number under the picture of the Inverter and it will show Version_Master, Slave and ARM (Manager)
Woops! From app Inverter page:
Version Master 1.14
Version Slave 1.02
Version ARM 1.17
Fox upgraded my battery firmware last week after I added some more. Not sure if they did the Inverter too.
They were super helpful
