Hello Fox ESS Community,
I am considering installing a Fox H1 Gen2 hybrid inverter (model: H1-5.0-E-G2) in a location where there is no grid connection available. I have the following questions:
Does this firmware version support commissioning the inverter without any grid connection (i.e., no grid present at any point during setup)?
If full grid-less commissioning is not officially supported, is there a firmware version or installer method that allows it?
If a temporary grid reference (e.g., generator or test supply) is needed for setup, what is the recommended procedure, and can it be removed afterward for fully off-grid operation?
Are there any warranty or safety implications if the inverter is commissioned without grid?
Additionally, I would appreciate any guidance on settings for running the inverter fully off-grid using EPS mode once installed.
Thank you very much for your assistance.
Yes, once all connected you can manually start the inverter from solar or by pressing the blackstart button/process on the battery and the inverter will wake up to be commissioned and provide power on the EPS port assuming EPS port is enabled on UPS mode.
