PV Power has halted at just oner 1 kW
IMG_A6A05E171C65-1.jpeg
PV output got stuck at just over 1kW at 7am in the morning. The reading has been static for 3 hours. Based on recent other sunny days it should be producting nearly 3kW by this time of day.

Any ideas why the output has levelled out? And by levelled out, I mean absolutely no variation from 1.02kW.

Thanks folks.

What inverter / battery system is this ?

Also can you check and post your firmware versions click on Device, Inverter, then click the serial number just below the image and it will show your Master and ARM versions.

Flat lining at that level plus the weird battery ‘charging’ would suggest the Manager/ARM has crashed which would require a shutdown / restart to correct.

Thanks Dave

Fox Inverter 60KG70204BWA040

Fox ESS EP5 Battery 60EP10504CQQ058

Both installed April 2025 - so I'm fairly new to this.

I think this is a communications problem. As you identified the battery is charging. And I've had appliances on at over 3kW and they are working without drawing on the battery or grid. In other words perhaps the App is not collecting data from the inverter correctly.

Do you have a handy link to the shut/down restart procedure?

Thanks again

BTW

The data is the same on the mobile app as on the web interface. Closing and re-opening the app didn't solve it.

There is a video here that runs through the typical switches and isolators on a system https://foxesscommunity.com/viewtopic.php?t=5

The shutdown procedure is to -
  • Isolate the PV (open the DC isolator)
  • Isolate the AC (open the AC breaker feeding the inverter)
  • Power off the battery (on EP5 press and hold the power button for more than 5 seconds until all LED’s flash then release it)
Wait for the inverter screen to go blank, the restart

  • Power on the battery (on the EP5 you press and hold the power button for 3 seconds then release wait for the LED’s to flash)
  • Close the AC isolator/breaker
  • Close the PV isolator
After several minutes of checking / waiting the inverter should return to normal which means it is running ok, your app may take a few minutes afterwards to update with the latest status.
