Can I set up 3 force charge periods?
I have just moved to Octopus Cosy and would like to set up 3 charging periods. However, both online and in the app, there is only the option to set 2 periods.
Is there any way to set a third?
I have tried using the Mode Scheduler in the app but keep getting error messages
Re: Can I set up 3 force charge periods?
Only by using the scheduler which should be possible but it’s a bit different than charge periods as you cannot overlap so for example if you want to start at 05:00 and end at 07:00 you would set 05:00-06:59 (as it assumes the :59 on the end time)

You would use Force Charge, minsoc 10%, maxsoc 100%, FDPwr 0, FDSoc 10% (the last 2 are irrelevant to charge but must be set).

If you have difficulty setting them post the settings you have used and the error message you get.

FYI - Schedules will disable any charge periods you have set and typically require later versions of firmware so it would be helpful if you could post your Master and Manager versions and inverter model if you have difficulty.
Re: Can I set up 3 force charge periods?
Thanks Dave,

I think I've done it.
Mode Scheduler is now showing Enabled and I have set periods of 04.00 - 06.50; 13.01 - 15.59; 22.01 - 23.59.
Each shows Force Charge; Min SoC 15%; FD SoC 15%; FDPwr 5000

My inverter model is AC1-5.0-E Master 1.64 ARM 1.71

Fingers crossed!

Just a quick confirmation that I now have 3 forced charge periods which are working perfectly!
Thanks Dave.

Great stuff, glad it’s working 👍🏻

Not really related, but given that the Force Charge Power can be set via modbus, is there any reason it isn't supported via the mode scheduler? Do you think Fox might support it in the future? It would seem to be a useful setting.

I like to charge at the minimum rate needed to fill the battery given the available time, which among other things improves the round-trip efficiency, and reduces unwanted heating and cell degradation (not necessarily by a noticeable amount for any of those, but some). It's easy enough to do in modbus, but I wouldn't know how to do it via the app.

It's a good idea and i'm a bit surprised that Fox haven't implemented this - it's certainly possible on modbus you just reverse the sign when you write to the active power register.

I think that's a good one to add to the list @Will when you set up the next Fox update meeting - it may well be in the pipeline ?
