New Firmware released for H3, should I update?

Hello,

since only a few days, I am proud owner of a H3-10.0-E inverter with 7.9 kWp panels and EK11 storage, doing my first steps now.

I have an End-user and Installer account.

I just noticed that there is a brand new firmware version out (from today) :
" H3_E_Master_V2.06 Inverter 2.06 H3 master Release 2025-03-27 09:58:14 CST+0800"

My current running versions seem to be quite old:
Master : 1.67
Slave : 1.03
Manager : 1.56
Datalogger (W4): 4.14

Although I didn't notice any issues yet (except the slow reaction time for heavy load changes, and "Grid pressure" tuning),
I wonder if it would make sense to update to this very new FW, as I read about few cases, where new versions could also introduce new problems.

Also, would it be possible to "downgrade" in case there should be any new issue cause by such an upgrade?

I am planning to use the RS485/modbus interface to connect via HomeAssistant. I hope the new FW version will not block/deactivate this feature.

Thank you very much

Hi, your versions are quite old and one of the early things to do with new installations is to make sure they are running the latest versions of firmware.

Fox do not provide release notes but the latest versions are the more stable, as a rule it is not possible to downgrade but where a problem occurs Fox do have access to the older versions and can downgrade if necessary, although they are usually very fast in producing fixes.

Modbus works fine on the latest version, and that is also another good reason to be on the latest as there are a few more (very useful) registers available on the latest firmware.

Thank you very much for the quick feedback.
I will try upgrading to the latest versions.

What would be your recommendations related to the "Grid pressure"?
I couldn't find any related setting in the current version.

Will this also be available with the latest version for H3?
And would it be OK to set it to a negative value, like -40W or so, to minimise grid import?
Or does it have some side-effect like premature battery aging etc?

The H3 has something called grid compensation which is the same thing, it's a bit more complex with 3 phase, sadly i'm not an expert on the H3 but in essence every installation is different and you have to set it and check, the aim is to reduce the small import that is needed to balance the loads or to change it to a very small export.
