If you have a G2 inverter you can, but not on the earlier inverters - the max number (under warranty) is 7.
There are people with 8 batteries on the older inverters some have had problems and Fox won't support them unless the stack is reduced to 7.
The problem is maximum battery voltage, the G1 inverters have a max of 450V, whereas the G2 (KH and H3) inverters support 480V - a cold battery stack with ageing batteries needs over 450V to meet max charge, hence the warranty disclaimer.
