hi all , just planning our install and can't decide between inverter and battery in hall or on outside wall.
Indoor hall is winning due to batteries and outdoor temperatures and inverters not liking direct sun.
but....is there any noise from the Ep5 battery or inverter? dont mind the odd buz or click but its next to living room so wouldn't want any continuous hum etc.
much appreciated

If you install outside you’ll need some kind of cover to avoid direct weather contact and preferably insulation around the battery in winter - some people build small wooden enclosures with ventilation and they add insulation in winter - works well if you have the space and time.
Back to your original question, they do make some noise but usually only at certain loads a few short squeaks, buzzes etc.. - it’s really not very loud and you’d likely only hear it in a quiet room - you certainly wouldn’t hear it when people are talking. The batteries are virtually silent.
I know people that have installed in kitchens, hallways and under stairs - they are obviously not the prettiest thing to look at so if in direct sight you might want to have them obscured behind a panel or enclosure and it’ll also stop any prying fingers.
The only thing to mention is when working hard the inverter generates heat from it’s rear fins - it would make a nice small radiator for the house but it does need ventilation to get air moving and keep the fins cool so if going under the stairs or in an enclosure make sure that there is plenty of ventilation provided.
