Hi all,
I have recently setup Home Assistant and all was well for a day, but then it seems as if there is no longer any sensor output on the LAN bus.
I was previously connected to my router via a switch, but have now connected the LAN directly to the Chromebox host, still no sensor info.
Swapped ethernet cables, still no luck.
Any ideas?
Edit: This might need to be in the Home Assistant sub.

Probably worth checking the IP address on your inverter is what you think it is (and what you have in your HA config), if the router is set to DHCP and the IP address wasn't set as static the lease could have expired and the inverter has got a new IP address.
You can see the IP address the inverter thinks it's got from the inverter panel About, and scroll down to IP Addr.
Also just to double check you haven't had a firmware update recently?, the latest version actually disables the LAN port

I'm now connected direct to the inverter from the HA host, the IP address showed all 0's, so not sure of the implications of that.Dave Foster wrote: ↑Sat Jan 14, 2023 4:59 pm Probably worth checking the IP address on your inverter is what you think it is (and what you have in your HA config), if the router is set to DHCP and the IP address wasn't set as static the lease could have expired and the inverter has got a new IP address.

Does the config need to change for a direct connection?
Re. disabling the LAN, that's not good news, why would they want/need to do that?

If it showed all 0’s, it’s lost the IP address not sure why it does that but possibly the DHCP lease expired, or it resets if it loses the physical connection - I get the feeling this isn’t the best implementation which might explain why they’ve removed it but no answer so far as to why.
You’ll need to go back into settings and set the IP address again, when it restarts check what the IP Add is and add it to your config - also if possible on your router change that IP address to static so it will always get the same one.
It’s Manager 1.56 that removes the LAN so try not get updated

I'm connected directly via host to inverter, there is no router in between, hence wondering if the config needs to be changed to reflect this.Dave Foster wrote: ↑Sat Jan 14, 2023 6:07 pm If it showed all 0’s, it’s lost the IP address not sure why it does that but possibly the DHCP lease expired, or it resets if it loses the physical connection - I get the feeling this isn’t the best implementation which might explain why they’ve removed it but no answer so far as to why.

I’m not that familiar with the Chromebox host but unless it can act as a DHCP server, the inverter would need to be connected via an intermediary such as a router that can issue IP address leases.

The Chromebox is running HA OS on its own, so I'm guessing I need to reconnect to the router.Dave Foster wrote: ↑Sat Jan 14, 2023 8:14 pm I’m not that familiar with the Chromebox host but unless it can act as a DHCP server, the inverter would need to be connected via an intermediary such as a router that can issue IP address leases.

Ok understood, yes HA itself doesn’t provide dhcp so you’ll need to go via the router for the connection.SolarJunkie wrote: ↑Sat Jan 14, 2023 8:21 pmThe Chromebox is running HA OS on its own, so I'm guessing I need to reconnect to the router.Dave Foster wrote: ↑Sat Jan 14, 2023 8:14 pm I’m not that familiar with the Chromebox host but unless it can act as a DHCP server, the inverter would need to be connected via an intermediary such as a router that can issue IP address leases.

Thank you.
I've reconnected the inverter via the router and have assigned a status IP address. Hopefully this should keep things stable.

Update:
The inverter seems to have lost its IP address again. I don't know why, but I'll check tomorrow.
For now though, Home Assistant isn't really working out.
