API Key is obfuscated??

Energy Stats is requesting a new API key, however when I generate a new key in the Fox website it is obfuscated so I can’t copy it to Energy Stats.

Any way around this? Thx

The moment you generate the key it isn't obfuscated, so you need to copy it then without changing screen or clicking on any other button - the moment you leave the screen and come back it will be obfuscated.

I find it easier to use a desktop or laptop where you can see the full screen on the foxesscloud.com page and then copy and paste it from there.

I have tested this on desktop and I can generate a new key fine in clear text. Might be something odd with the mobile version. Tryin generating on a desktop and emailing it to your phone.

Sounds like a mobile bug, what device and browser are you using and i'll report it.

Hi there,
Ive just had new install of panels, foxess batts and inverter.
A friend has recommendd the Energy Stats App to me ,and following the guidelines to install it asks for the new API. I'm very new to this and am wondering what happens when a new API is generated?
is there anything/action I need to do or take after the generation, other than just put this new API in to the E nergy Stats app?

Hi, when you go to the Fox ESS cloud website and generate an API key it produces a key that allows third party applications to access your personal account information.
You have to copy it the moment it is created, after which the website will only display it in a partial form so best to keep a note of it in case you have to re-enter it in Energy Stats, there’s nothing else to do once you have it.

It isn’t a problem if you forget it, you just have to go through the generate API key process again on the Fox website, it will issue a new one and the old one will be disabled and will no longer function.
