upgrade question

I currently have 14 x 410w sharp panels, Fox Ess H1 3.7 inverter and 5 Mira 2500 batteries south facing, although shaded in the winter months by tree branches.

I notice at times when cookers on and other appliances are in use the inverter cannot cope and draws from the grid as well as the batteries.
The current system was fitted in July 2023.

I am looking to add more panels (i have an un-utilised flat roof on the rear of a dormer bungalow) and upgrade to a H1 6kWh inverter and 2 extra batteries.

I have been quoted just over £9K for 10 x sharp 420w panels, upgrade inverter to H1 6kWh, two batteries and DNO application.
Does this sound reasonable? I am trying to convince Mrs Sloan.

Thank you for any advice.

It’s not an unreasonable price particularly if you’ll have scaffold or towers up to get to the 10 new panels on the roof, then the change of your inverter will need all the AC cabling, mcb’s and isolator replacing.
I would have expected around £5k for just the inverter and batteries.

Thank you Dave, I think I have persuaded Mrs Sloan to let me go ahead, with the promise I wont moan if she is running the washing machine and drier at the same time :D
