Charging slots and Agile

Recently moved into Octopus Agile and finding the two charging slots inadequate to get the best out of Agile.

For example -ve slot tonight 23:30 till midnight and 1:30 till 2:00, and then some slots at 1p/2p mark.

unless I stay up till midnight I have to either plan in some more expensive slots or not charge up.

I need 4 slots with my inverter to charge battery up from empty. When I can combine slots it’s not so bad but it can significantly increase costs.

I have HA but IP not mod is connection at present and whilst I have the means to wire it up am worried that the cables already wired may pull out ( shouldn’t if done properly I know.

Once you have the RS485 connection set up you can use HA automations to change the time slots on the fly, so definitely something you want to look into.

Have a read of this for detail on how to make the connection. It's not very difficult, you just need to take your time and be careful.

As Calum said HA via RS485 will give you the control you need to adjust them on the fly - I keep my period 1 set as my main charge cycle and I use period 2 to mop up any low tariff slots.

I see the new fox firmware has multiple slots available.

Would like to get the system upgraded.

As for HA I don’t have the tool to release the plug to gain access to the terminals.
So can’t wire the HA unit in.

I understand from the HA Facebook group that 1.7 doesn’t work well with current HA modbus release and new features, and is being looked at.

The fox app isn’t great so like the HA to see the data and currently use the fox app to assign the charges.

I don't have it either :) You can use two screwdrivers or similar to achieve the same thing. After that, plain sailing.

My installer has sent the tool and another CT clamp for monitoring the other fits Solar, but couldn’t get the sub rs485 and pi4 to work when connected.
