Fox KH9 not showing correct PV current
I have just installed a Fox KH9 (DIY install).

The problem I'm seeing is that the current shown on the unit does not match what is actually being sent.

It is consistently 1-2a less than what is measured. I've tried multiple meters.

What this means is that on a cloud day my unit is showing 0w of generation instead of 200-300w.

See attached photo. 1.2a measured vs 0.2a on Fox.

Anybody seen this before? I've tried resetting everything, factory reset and making sure firmware is latest - Master 1.64, Slave 1.02, Manager 1.60

Re: Fox KH9 not showing correct PV current
The firmware versions are not the latest, but that won't be the issue.

Anyhow, my own thought is that Fox 'use' some of the current to run the inverter, and therefore take this away. I could be totally wrong, but that seems to be what I think they are doing.
Re: Fox KH9 not showing correct PV current
Apologies, I thought I was on the latest firmware as I was looking at the release notes page:

https://fox-ess.tech/firmware-release-notes/

I've just found the Google sheets page with newer versions. I will ask Fox to update my firmware. Thanks for letting me know.

The problem for me is when it is cloudy I am seeing 0w generation at midday ( I have 8 x 480w Aiko panels connected in a single string ). My total solar generation for Monday was 0.5Kwh. When it is sunny it jumps up to over 3Kw but there is clearly something wrong. I haven't taken a clamp meter reading in the full sun yet, it is forecast sun today so hopefully will get that to see how much a difference there is in that scenario.
Re: Fox KH9 not showing correct PV current
I did see about 500W in the mist/fog a few days back, did surprise me.
Well hopefully today is sunny so you can look and see, best of luck with your install.
Re: Fox KH9 not showing correct PV current
Thanks very much.
Re: Fox KH9 not showing correct PV current
Fox kindly updated the firmware but it has made no difference. I've now added a second string of 7 panels to PV2.

This means I now have 15 x 480w panels.

It was sunny on Wednesday and I took some more readings, in full sun it was showing a difference of approx 1.5A - about 340W per string, photo attached.

It is now 11.18am and light cloud and it shows 0W generation. I took clamp readings from both strings and it should be 200W.
