I have a H7 (16 Solar Panels and 11kWh battery) system. Installed 6 months ago and working fine. I control it via Home Assistant.
Until now I have been charging my EV via 13amp socket. I recently had an Andersen EV charger fitted. Today was an Agile plunge day so I was looking to optimise my usage. EVCharger (7KW), Washing Machine (~2KW), Dryer (~2KW) all running. I also wanted to charge the Fox battery but for much of the time the Fox was charging at a much restricted rate (1-3KW). Turned off the EV and immediately the fox went up to max (6-7KW). The max grid consumption I recorded was about 11KW.
It is almost as if the current draw from the grid is being limited somewhere. Is this the KH7? Is there a setting in the inverter for this? I had a quick look in the settings but cant see anything obvious.
ANY ADVICE most welcome!
Find 'Controls' for your FoxESS in HA, this will show you Import/Export and Current limits quickly.
Post a pic once you have it.

I was able to pull 14kW so around 63Amps from grid, at this time, the battery charge dropped from 7.7kW to 5.75kW whilst having a shower.
Here are my HA controls for my KH7

Thanks for your fast response. Here are my settings (BTW I am using Modbus to connect)
These are my settings. The input power maxes out at 14.5 KW - is that a hard limit?

Using Modbus also.
I was able to input 18400W (divided by 230V for 80A incoming fuse rating)
Are you not able to input directly this value? Be sure to type it, don't use the up arrow as you will 'flood' and lock out the system with too many requests.
If you have 'flooded' the inverter, then just wait for a few hours/tomorrow and input new value.

I can type in higher values (20000) but after a second or two it flips back to 14500. If I type a lower value (13000) it holds. Is there a limit of 14500 set in the inverter that is overriding a higher input?
Firmware related perhaps? That sounds like a *recent 63Amp bug (14500W / 230V)
Edit: * Sorry in past few months

OK my bad - I was adjusting the wrong value 'Import Power' rather than 'Export Power' (I think the naming convention in this area - based on the grid perspective - is very confusing!!!!). I can set the Export Power to higher values. So if I find the main home fuse rating and use this to calculate KW with a bit of spare I am safe to change this value?
Thanks for your help.
Thanks for your help.
Your export amount should match your G99 limit from DNO, and especially if you don't want a rap on the knuckles
That should also state hopefully your import capacity.
As mentioned, mine is set to 18400W (80Amp) but the Fox will limit you to 63Amp.

Thanks again! You have been very helpful.
I will be interested to see how it goes next plunge event.

You're welcome, best of luck with the next plunge event (next Sat is looking good if the wind holds up)
And I am back...
Today was another plunge session where I had time to monitor my system.
Recap: KH7 inverter plus 16panels and 11KwH battery all controlled through Home Assistant via Modbus.
The problem: when using the EV charger the Fox battery charge is limited as if the total power available is restricted. @MaterialBarracuda48 suggested increasing the Export Power setting which I did but unfortunately it has not made any difference.
Here are my settings... (note the Max Discharge Current is deliberately set to 0 during EVCharging and Plunge events to stop it using the Fox battery) Here is an example of charging. At this time force charge was on for the fox battery and the EV charger was on. (note house consumption is just the total home consumption minus the EVcharger consumption.) So as you can see the EV Charger was going at max but the Fox charge was low. I monitored it for several minutes and it fluctuated a little in line with PV power. At one point the fox stopped charging altogether... As soon as I turned off the EVCharger the fox went up to full charge. I am confused! The maximum grid consumption I have seen today is 8.54Kw even though there is potential for up to 7Kw(EV)+7kW(Fox)+2KW(home).
For the sake of completeness here is a picture of my main supply cupboard marked up (too much info? Sorry!) Any thoughts????

Just a quick reply, it's the Import limit that should be at say 18400W.
The export limit you should set to your specified value from your G99 certificate
Thanks MaterialBarracuda48 and please be patient with me as I said before I find this terminology confusing.
I thought the import and export terms referred to the grid perspective - so import means importing TO the grid and exporting refers to exporting FROM the grid (rather than the more logical to me HOME perspective). Even the arrows in the icons seem to support this logic (Export and Grid Consumption arrows are the same). So am I wrong (wont be the first time!)?
Anyway the maximum I can set my Import Power Limit to is 14500w any higher setting and it resorts back to that value. But that should be enough to (almost) cover Fox Charge + EV + Home?
Batteries are all full now and I am not certain what setting I had for Import Power Limit earlier (I think 14500w) so I will keep an eye on it...
Thanks again for your patience!!!!

Yes, but you are all good, it's easy to see it the wrong way.
Note my export is 3.9kW, and is written correctly into the settings.
Your import limit of 14500W does sound like an firmware limit.
It should be enough to cover the power in theory, there are some other settings that can affect power.
I have loads of patience, and also still learning new things.
