Which work mode to use?
Hello

I have a largeish battery which has been filling up pretty much every day this summer from solar generation alone. Between 16.00 and 19.00, I have set a forced discharge to the grid with a hard stop at 35%.

In the past few days, as the weather has been cloudier, the 35% level has been hit before 19.00 and the system, on self-use mode, stops exporting and starts using the grid for my home's power rather than the remaining 35% in the battery. As soon as we hit 19.00, it reverts to the battery but I'd like that to happen as soon as it can no longer discharge to the grid. I'm sure it used to do this but it seems to have changed over summer. Any advice?
Re: Which work mode to use?
There was a change made by Fox ~ 9 months ago that changed the behaviour to do what you describe, and there was a significant backlash from users who didn't want to use grid i.e. it should revert to self use.

Recently the firmware and app have been changed so that you can choose the mode it returns to after the battery hits the desired soc you'll need to get the latest firmware on your inverter for this feature.

Here is a picture of where you are looking, if you don't have this, then you will need to upgrade firmware as Dave has said.

What it does is wait for your 35% SoC to be reached, then swaps work mode to whatever you specify.
Feed-in if you want the battery to discharge, but not charge up again from solar.
Self-use if you do want the battery to charge from PV/discharge as needed.

Oh, thanks so much both of you. All adjusted
