About Rvolt, RCurrent, Rpower...

Hi everyone,
i searched among the various posts the meaning of: Rvolt, Rcurrent, Rpower and Rfreq.
In case of fault it is important to consult them.
I understood that the inverter, with some sensors, detects some network parameters (frequency, voltage an so on ...).
Rvolt should indicate the grid voltage that is network voltage.
Rfreq should indicate the grid frequency.

For example if the Rvolt is very low or very high the inverter can go into protection by signaling: "Grid Voltage Fault " or "Grid Frequency Fault" in case Rfreq is low or high.
At this point , i don’t understand what represent: RPower and RCurrent
Infact, according to me, they cannot be "network power" and "network current".
Is it correct ?
Can you explain that?

In a single phase inverter the 'R' stands for reference so your RVolt, RFreq, Rpower and RCurrent are the primary reference measurements for the inverter (In a 3 phase you also have 'S' for secondary and 'T' for Tertiary).

As the inverter is grid tied, RVolt and RFreq are effectively the grid voltage and grid frequency and will always be that, as you say should the grid voltage (or frequency) stray outside of the allowable parameters the inverter will generate an error and disconnect it's output from the grid but RVolt & RFreq will still be the grid measurements.

RPower & RCurrent are the 'apparent' measurements for power and current measured by the inverter via it's CT clamp or (RS485 meter if fitted instead) - you are correct it's not as simple as being the grid power but it is what the real actual home load is. If the inverter is operational it will be the inverters output, but if the inverter is not operational it will be the power being used from the grid (or a blend of both if the load power is more than the inverter output).

The official documentation, provided by foxess, is lacking.
Is there any alternative documentation available to better understand ?

Other than the standard manuals there isn’t much else, that’s one of the reasons why William created these Forums to share information and good practice - there’s also a Facebook group which has a very active community if you have an FB account there’s lots of searchable information over there https://www.facebook.com/groups/foxessownersgroup
