I have an RS485 device connected to my KH7 inverter via a 10m cable run (cat6 cable). I understand that there is a dip switch in the KH7 which will enable 120ohm termination resistors across the RS485 terminals to help to stabilise comms over the connection, but I can't find any reference to this in the manual.
Pages 34-37 refer to dip switches for connecting multiple inverters in parallel, but I can't find anything relating to the RS485 connection.
Can anyone direct me to information on where and how I can use this dip switch?
The only dip switch in the KH inverter is for enabling the parallel mode termination resistors on the CAN bus, where it is a critical requirement - this doesn't exist for the RS485.
If your cable length is relatively small (10-20 metres), you don't really need it, for very long cable runs you should fit 120 ohm resistors across the A/B pair at each end.
