So, would like to say I did do a search through the forums and LOTS of threads appeared on Axle Energy, but could not see relating to my query, if there is a thread, would appreciate if someone could share
So, my question is .. just signed up (today) with Axle Energy and wondering how people are configuring with Home Assistant. I have select the "Event Only" mode, as did not want them to have full control
I have not initiated a session yet (not been notified yet), however, I am trying to figure out, how to not full drain the battery on one of these events. I thought about setting my Min SoC to 30%, so I have 20% left in the tank (until night time charging), but then thought, when it hits 30% .. would it just not draw from the grid until the Axel event finishes?
Are you able (via Home Assistant) to end an event when battery hits 30%
Suggestions and recommendations greatly appreciated
Hi Albie999,
I just had my 1st Axle event a couple of weeks ago and although my system did start exporting automatically it was at a very low rate, then I remembered I had set my Maximum Export Rate to 50W as I don't want to export to the grid when there was spare PV generation.
As soon as I upped this I was able to export at maximum inverter output (less the house load). So what i'm saying is you can restrict the max rate of discharge such that it can't fully drain your battery over the axle event period.
This way you don't have to change the min SOC settings.

Whereabouts did you set that, was this from inside the fox app?
Does this not get overuled by the mode scheduler request that they send?

yes, under devices/inverter/quick settings - Export Limit
That was my point - Axle didn't change this setting when it set the event schedule.

Couldn't see quick settings under devices / inverter
Sorry, I was using the web app. In the mobile app it's under Inverter/Settings/BasicParameter2 - ExportLimitedPower

Just noticed that you don't have the settings option - that could be because your logged in as just a user, I'm logged in as an agent (I installed the system myself).

Hhhhmmmm .... Still do not see a setting under the inverter, only place I've found something is from the home page, quick settings ... Then export limit ... But I cannot change
Ah, that now makes sense. I do have home assistant modbus integration ... But not sure I've seen that setting available in home assistant
I think HA will be restricted to whatever Fox Modbus makes available under you logon credentials.

Thanks for the info ... I'll have to have a proper look around to see how I can restrict. For tomorrow's one I'm all good to take part as not home (holiday) so they can have all the power lol
Do you see the Maximum Discharge Current entity in HA and can you adjust that?
This should do the same thing as MaxExportPower.
Tomorrow's Axle event is not so good for me as my battery will have been covering my house's evening load and may not have much left. Still may be worth topping up at 20p/unit and selling to Axle at £1/unit - I might make a fiver!

I think I can, but might leave changing anything until I get back home .... Don't want to break anything I can't fix locally lol
Good plan. That's something that worried me when I'm away in Spain for 3 months during the Winter but the system worked well this year apart from one time when HA stopped comminicating with the inverter. I could see the system was OK from the Fox App so not major issue.
Turned out that the HA modbus scan interval had changed to something like 4 hours so was easily reset to 10s but no idea why this happened.
