Automatic Change Over
Hi all,

Trying to sanity check what I’m being told about FoxESS KH10 Single Phase Inverter + EQ4800 EPS backup.

I’ve got 3 circuits (2 GPO + 1 Lights) I want backed up and currently have a manual changeover, but looking to go automatic.

I’m getting *completely different answers* depending who I ask:

* Some saying just use interlocked contactors (then there is clearly debate over whether electrical or mechanical interlock is needed (or in some cases both)
* Others saying proper ATS is the only way if I don't want to run the circuits in the EPS mode all the time (which I do not)
* Then conflicting advice on 1NO/1NC vs 2NO/2NC and whether you need 1 or 2 of these (and if the reason is for number of circuits or for the safety ie. Break before make)

So is Contactor(s) a valid a compliant (AS3000, 4777 and any others for residential dwelling in Sydney) way of doing this for single phase (3 circuits - 2GPO + 1 Lights)

To be clear not trying to DIY it — just don’t want to end up with a messy or non-compliant setup and want to go to electrician with what I can believe is a valid option and there appears to be a lot of misguided information out there as to what is needed.

Lastly as stated above I am only wanting 3 circuits currently but guess future proofing to think of 1 more would be beneficial. Would definitely wait until I have some real world data before I look to do this as don't want to overload it

Cheers
