Always a hybrid mix

Hi

Install of solar and cubes only switched on this week so I'm very new to the subject.

I haven't yet seen my system run solely on battery. Even when battery at 25% there will still be a significant amount of draw from the grid to satisfy the house load, usually more grid than battery. This balance shifts in favour of battery when the PV kicks in but always a degree of grid input. I have plenty of opportunity to play around with the setup as I'm on a low fixed grid rate until May, but the intention is to have a system that favours battery completely unless they drop to 12% and be able to set up so that I start each day with a minimum battery charge to take advantage of lower off peak rates.

Some guidance on the initial setup and thresholds would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Hi & welcome,

Could you confirm what model inverter and kW version of the inverter it is, how many cube batteries and what you mean by "significant amount of draw from the grid", anything over 40 watts idle from grid is worth us helping you get to the bottom of.
