Away from home for 8-12 weeks.
I'd be interested to read suggestions/advice as to the best strategy to run my system if away from home for 2-3 months (May onwards)
Virtually nothing would be consuming power other than the inverter.
I have SEG and incoming power with e.on next gen.
If I leave settings on self-use the battery will be almost always at 100% and PV will be almost exclusively export. I don't think that would be best for the battery?
7 x440w PV
FoxESS EP11.
Thanks.
Re: Away from home for 8-12 weeks.
Get the battery SoC down to around 50% then set your system to 'feed-in' mode whilst away.

This should keep the battery in a more stable SoC (they arrive with around 50%)
Any PV will power the home base load, and export the rest. Monitor system remotely, and if the SoC drops (overnight) then either set work mode to 'self-use' for a bit to get the SoC up/charge from grid for a short time (if you have cheap import rate)

Thanks, MB48.
I'll try that soon.
Re: Away from home for 8-12 weeks.
Unrelated to your PV question, but make sure you have considered if your home insurance covers you for absences of your intended leave.

Thanks Grumps -important point. The last insurance policies we've had stipulated a maximum of 60 days. An increase on that duration subject to insurance approval or the house being occupied for a couple of days per additional week eg family staying.
