couple of months back I got this system installed:
10.5KW panels
10KW FoxESS three phase inverter
42 kw FoxESS battery
The work-mode is set to self-use
Really the battery gets to 100% when sun is up in few hours, my consumption is conservative and hardly (if never) goes over 6KWh (45 amps), so the system is an overkill for my home.
Problem:
Reading from the energy provider <> readings from the FoxCloud2.0 app. Noting that I import at 40cents/KWH while export at 4cents/KWH. So financial loss is considerable when I import anything un-necessarily from the grid, which is happening.
I noticed that I continually import power to the grid even on low loads, but the import is low. Ex. if AC is on along normal appliances like fridge, TV, which consumes a total of 5KWH, I would be unnecessarily importing a fraction of it, maybe 0.2KWH
I also noticed that the system exports power at night where there is no solar production at all
There is a correlation, usually the export/import at night are almost equal.
Real examples of 30 minutes intervals from the Energy provider reports:
12:00AM : Export : 0.19kwh , Import 0.18kwh
2:00 AM : Export : 0.04kwh , Import 0.04kwh
3:00 AM : Export : 0.03kwh , Import 0.03kwh
3:30 AM : Export : 0.03kwh , Import 0.03kwh
5:00AM : Export : 0.03kwh , Import 0.03kwh
at these times my load consumption as shown on the FoxESS app didn't exceed 0.5KWH. So a fraction is exported/imported at the same time.
My installer is trying to contact FoxESS for help with no success.
Can someone guide me where could the problem be?
Many Thanks
