Mode scheduler stops working every few days
Hi guys
I am facing strange issue.

The mode scheduler stops working every few days.

When it stops i have to press save in scheduler settings again to get it going. After that it would work as per the schedule but then I keep find it not working after a couple of days. The schedule stays there and in enabled state. The inverter just sits in the default mode of self use rather than following the schedule. It even say self-use rather then the mode it is supposed to be in.

I am using mobile app v2.2 .1

This happened with previous app version too but the mode scheduler used to say disabled.

Could a schedule conflict cause this?

I have 3 blocks and there is no overlap in the timings

Please help.

That’s a new one on me, do you have any third party access to your system, such as the octopus agile controls, or anything similar ?

Could you also check your firmware versions by clicking on Device, Inverter and then click on the serial number below the image it will show the Master, Slave and Manager version - if you cross check them with the firmware versions table here viewtopic.php?t=1927 against your model of inverter are they up to date ?
Re: Mode scheduler stops working every few days
Hi Dave,

The versions are as follow:
Version_Master: 1.60
Version_slave: 1.02
Version_Arm: 1.58

I do not see the Manger version under Inverter but, the ARM version instead. Not sure if they are the same.
Master and slave seems to be latest and if ARM means Manager, that's latest too.

There is no third party access at this stage.

The mode scheduler stopped working again on 22/02 after being enabled on 19/02 and defaulted to self-use.
Interestingly, now I see a 4th entry in mode scheduler for Self-Use covering the entire 24hrs and overlapping the other three schedules I had added. This 4th entry was not there before. I think this is a new feature in Mode Scheduler. All four were in enabled state.

Originally, there was a period that was not covered by the three mode scheduler entries I added and the inverter was supposed to go into the default Self-Use mode in that period.

I noted that every time mode scheduler stopped working, it was during the time not covered by my three entries (so when it was in default Self-Use mode). I think, there was a bug in the system and it could not get out of the mode due to contention of default entry in mode scheduler that was hidden before.

Now that I can see it, I disabled the overlapping self-use entry.

Hopefully it should be fixed now. Will provide an update in a few days.

Cheers
Re: Mode scheduler stops working every few days
Yes the overlapping entry is something Fox have added in the new app (arguably a good idea as it sets the ‘default’ workmode when not in a schedule)- But the problem is, it randomly seems to cause scheduler problems, we’re not sure why and it’s affecting various customers differently so it appears to be variable depending on inverter / firmware version etc..

The best advice is as you’ve done go to the website and delete the 00:00-23:59 schedule - the Energy Stats app by Al Priest (a community member here) does still work for both charge periods and schedules and if you need a working app, I would recommend that until Fox resolve the issues.

It's not random for me, if I use the app to update the schedule at some point I get a 00:00 to 23:59 entry that stops the other entries working due to overlapping times.

Doesn't happen with the web portal or API.

It depends on your firmware and inverter model - my older H1 doesn't do it, but then it doesn't support FCSoC or FCPwr either. From the testing we've been able to do, for some systems it depends where the extra slot is inserted in the schedule list - and then it will always fail; for others, it works ok after a Manager restart and then stops after a few days.
What we do know (and have reported back to Fox) is that overlapping schedules are causing the issue and needs to be addressed (for example Energy Stats 'fills' in the empty periods to achieve the same default workmode settings but it doesn't overlap existing periods which causes the problem.)
Re: Mode scheduler stops working every few days
Thanks Dave

So far so good with me.

I have not touched any further settings and the scheduler seems to be working ok for me, since my last post.

I will see how far I make it.

Again, thanks for letting know that the web portal is a more safer option if I alter anything.

Cheers
