Restricting Battery Charge Power on Hybrid Inverter
Hello,

I'm seeking information regarding my hybrid inverter (details in my signature). I'd like to know if it's possible to limit the power used for charging the battery.

Specifically, I want to restrict the battery charging to a maximum of 3 kWh.

The reason for this is related to electricity tariffs in Luxembourg. We are charged fees if our grid consumption exceeds a pre-defined limit, which can be 3 kWh, 7 kWh, or 12 kWh, depending on the contract. A higher limit results in higher fees. If we exceed the agreed-upon limit, fees are also applied.

Thank you !

Re: Restricting Battery Charge Power on Hybrid Inverter
There is an option to limit the maximum battery charge current within the inverter settings, but setting this will also restrict the maximum charge from solar as well.

You can find this option by going to the inverter panel, enter Settings (password is 0,0,0,0) then go to Battery, MaxChgCur.

This entry is the DC battery charge current in amps, to get to the power you need to multiply it by your battery voltage i.e. an EP11 has a 380V battery and so setting it to 8A would set 3,040 watts.

This video shows you how it is done. https://foxesscommunity.com/viewtopic.php?t=969

Note: there may be a firmware upgrade in the near future that allows you to set the charge power when using Force Charge in the Scheduler (by setting FDPwr to 3000 watts) - some inverters already have this as it is being rolled out.
