Hi. I wonder if anyone can help or can explain.
As of today, it appears that we are selling more solar to the grid than we are storing to the battery.
As an example our PV is generating 4.75KW, our load is 2.59KW, we're sending 1.35KW to the grid however our battery is only 34% full at 0.81KW.
The app settings are set up to prioritise solar storage over selling back and we do not have any schedules set up to sell back to the grid.
Is this normal? Or is there any settings that would allow storage to take priority over selling back?
Check your battery temperature, if it is starting to get cold it will begin to throttle the charge rates.
Thanks. The battery temp at the time was 6 degrees.
Ok yep that would do it, this helpful video explains more https://youtu.be/nDAw0KAYvcE?si=jlKnOTbd1BdCXYIh
Quite a few users that have batteries exposed to cold temperatures have built a simple kingspan insulation box around the batteries which helps a lot during winter.
Thank you for confirming. We have the ability to warm up the battery but the option is greyed out on the app. Apparently we need the installers to push a firmware update for this option to work. We've contacted them and hopefully this will resolve the issue. But if they can't do this then I'll definitely look in to what you've suggested.
Thank you once again.
