🔋 FoxESS H1-6.0-G2 + EP11 — How to limit battery charging power from the grid only?
Hi everyone,

I have a FoxESS H1-6.0-G2 inverter with an EP11 battery, and I’m looking for a way to limit the battery charging power coming from the grid only, without limiting PV charging.

My goal is to take advantage of the cheaper night tariff to charge the battery up to around 40–50%, but at a low charging power, so I don’t use too much of my contracted grid capacity. However, I want the PV charging to remain unrestricted during the day.

🔧 What I’m trying to achieve:

Limit only the grid charging power (not the PV charging)

Charge to a defined SOC target (e.g., 40–50%) during night hours

❓ Questions:

Is there a setting in the inverter or FoxCloud app that allows separate power limits for grid charging vs PV charging?

Is this possible on the H1-G2 models, for now I have to change manually in "Settings/Battery/Max charge curr"

Thanks in advance to anyone who can share guidance or settings!

So a couple of things, if you get the latest firmware on your inverter it now supports the use of the FDPwr setting in the scheduler as a charge power setting.

i.e. once you have the latest firmware you can set a Force Charge at night with a maxSoC and FDSoC setting of 50% and FDPwr at whatever you want the charge rate to be i.e. 3000 watts. It doesn't affect PV charge that will charge at maximum allowable power. (make sure to set your MaxChargeCurr back to default ~ usually 40A)

There is also a grid import option (on latest firmware versions) that sets the maximum allowable power the inverter will take from the grid (Settings, On-Grid, Export Control, ImportPwrLimit) so for example setting this to (say) 5000 watts will mean the maximum power the inverter will allow to be taken from the grid is 5000 watts. This is good if you don't want to overload your grid import but not so good if you have overnight loads switching on with low tariff such as water heaters, EV charger, heat pumps etc.. as it is possible in this scenario there will not be enough excess power left to charge the batteries.

Latest firmware is currently showing as Master 1.45, Manager(ARM) 1.62 for the H1 G2 but there are scheduler bugs in Manager 1.61 and 1.62 so best to hold off until they are fixed, or install 1.58

Thanks, I will do that.

Now I'm already at FW master 1.45 and manager 1.58. I will try that, and hope they fix the menu names in the app to all get's more clear.

BTW, regarding Firmware:

The battery, an EP11, is on 1.009, I just updated last Friday. I saw on difference, but maybe others can confirm. Yesterday the FV was getting enought power, and I checked the syten when SOC was 95% and was chaging at 1.1KW power only, and the remaining FV production was sent to grid. I don't know if the process start at 95% or lower.
