Forced Discharge Issue
I have 8.8kW Solar / 20kW Batteries / 7k Inverter installed. Firmware versions are Master 1.41, Slave 1.01, ARM 1.37. I am on Octopus Flux so wanting to take advantage of import / export as follows :
  • Charge batteries to 90% in the 2am - 5am lower import tariff period
  • Dicharge my batteries to 30% in the 4pm - 7pm higher export tariff period
  • Use batteries / ongoing solar generation in between and export anything above 100% battery capacity straight to Grid
For some reason it is not exporting to Grid in the 4pm - 7pm period. Also it seems that once I reach 100% battery carge in the day the Solar PV generation matches the Load required and I never trigger discharge to the Grid. Import in 2am - 5am period to charge the batteries is working fine. What am I doing wrong? If nothing, is there a chance that hardware is not configured right? Appreciative of any views and advice.

Re: Forced Discharge Issue
Is it a new install ?

Could you post a picture of the graph in the app for a typical day - swipe left off the home page, scroll to the bottom of the page and screen shot the graph with load, battery, grid and battery soc
Re: Forced Discharge Issue
Install a few months old, but only recently got Octopus Flux up and running.

Hopefully the attached helps.

Re: Forced Discharge Issue
Hmmm, definitely no force discharge 4-7pm although you do have plenty of load activity, I guess kitchen stuff.

Very possibly your export power limit has been reset by a recent firmware update - you have to check this at the inverter panel, go into Settings, on-grid, export control and check your ExportlimitPwr is set to 60000 (sixty thousand), and your ExportlimitCurr setting is set to 100A - if it isn’t post what you had and change it.
Re: Forced Discharge Issue
Thanks, I’ll try this when home later.

Whole house runs on Electric, so yes plenty of load activity.
Re: Forced Discharge Issue
They were showing as 0 and 150. I reset them to 60000 and 100. Will see if this does the trick 🤞
Re: Forced Discharge Issue
ok, it was the power set to '0' that was your problem, it should be fine now.

Your export current was originally set to 150A which is the default for large inverters, but 100A is the usual main fuse size for a UK domestic property.
Re: Forced Discharge Issue
Thanks so much for your help, it’s working now. I’ll have to make sure it doesn’t reset again in future.
