Batteries charging outside force charging period.

Hello all,

Had my batteries installed today, the solar was installed a few months ago.

I have set the SOC to 10% and the force charging+ charge enabled settings to charge between 00:30 - 04:30 as below.

But the batteries are charging at 22:00 at 0.45Kw see below, this has happened several time times since the battery install was completed.

Has anyone else experienced this? I do not want my batteries charging when my electricity is expensive!

Cheers
Scott

It will be to do with the temperature where the battery is installed, the BMS will be putting charge into the battery to protect it from the cold.

Cheers for the reply,

That makes alot of sense they are in my 1930's loft hopefully with them charging and discharging today they will not have to charge to stay warm, they were only installed at 5pm yesterday.

I do have another question, it looks like the max charge rate is limited to 0.560Kw from both the solar and the grid, it doesn't look like I have access via my user account to change this.

Is there any way it can be changed?

(edit) After having a look through some other posts it appears the battery charging is throttled when they are cold? wat temp do they need to be to allow the full charge rate?

Yes the charge rate will be controlled via the BMS which will throttle it in cold conditions, I will have to check but think it needs to be up around 8-10c for full charge capacity, obviously not ideal when installers place them in lofts and cold garages, bad practice in my option.
