Hi there, first post on this forum and just looking for some advice. I operate a hybrid system with solar panels and battery and have just moved to a new energy tariff with low overnight rates (00:00 to 05:00). I want to use this to charge up my battery overnight form the grid so I use less grid electricity at peak times.
I've set up a force time for charging from the grid for the correct time and set the Min SoC at 10% and Min SoC (on grid) at 50%. However, this hasn't quite has the impact I wanted. Whenever the battery falls below 50% charge it stops discharging and reverts to the grid instead whatever time of day.
What I want is the battery to charge overnight then discharge over the day as normal.
My only thought was that I have to wake up at 00:00 every day to adjust the SoC charge then alter it back every morning at 05:00 but this seems unrealistic.

You need to set the Min SOC (on grid) to 10% aswell.
Min SOC is the lowest it will take the battery to, Min SOC (on grid) is for when you have EPS backup and want to leave a certain amount of charge in reserve in the case of power cuts.

EPS is 'Emergency Power Supply' - the inverter has the option to fail over to an emergency supply when the grid fails, but there are strict usage requirements about it so you have to have a changeover switch (and usually an earth rod) fitted.
