BMS Error LED

Post by Tsui_fox »

Both the red and green alarm LED are flashing. The user manual only has explanation for only on of them flashing. Does anyone got any idea? Should I reset the BMS. If yes, how to do it please?

Thank you for the reply. Unfortunately, the same Alert lights re-appear after reset. Have you got any idea the meaning of both red and green alert lights flashing?

Mine does the same, has been doing it for weeks at this point. No errors on the portal and seems to be working ok. I'm assuming it's a BMS firmware bug at this point...

Red and green flashing once every few seconds with no sound alarm and no alarm on the inverter is normal operation. The manual is out of date sadly.

I had a similar situation yesterday. Red and Green blinking alert lights on the battery pack. I also noticed the battery was offline in FoxESS Cloud and all sensors in HA were "unavailable"
Controling the inverter via the touch menu on the box was not possible. The touch buttons did not respond at all.

After about 10 minutes everything came back online ans was responsive again. But I definitely lost data in HA, not sure about FoxESS Cloud. When the system was unresponsive we were running on the grid (I've got an extra CT clamp installed from another smart system, so I saw the meter running when the inverter was unresponsive). The battery level was at 99%.

However.
Every time when there was an interruption there were entries in the error log on the box (For some reason I don't see errors in FoxESS Cloud).
The errors listed in the log are:

Code: Select all

BMS Lost
or

Code: Select all

BMX Ext Fault
H1-5.0-E1 inverter
ECS2900-H3
4400wp (SW) + 2000wp (NE) PV Array
HomeAssistant via WaveShare RS485 PoE to ETH (b)
no wi-fi (no stable connection)

goal: disconnect the FoxEss system from the internet completely and manage it from HA.
