Hi,
After seeing yet another instance of the app temporarily not working, it got me thinking - do Fox-ESS publish a list on the internet of scheduled maintenance windows ? It would sure save a lot of aggravation to their customers if we knew in advance that there was eg a server upgrade planned for the end of <insert month>.
Just seemed like an easy "win" for their customer support if they don't already do it......
Scheduled maintenance outages

If they were doing scheduled maintenance the app does provide an imminent warning when you open it.
Unfortunately this has not been normal or scheduled, the cloud had been operational for the majority of the year (admittedly some similar problems earlier in the year) but these outages seem to have been caused by changes they made to support the newer V2 app - which caused the 3rd party apps like Energy Stats and the Home Assistant cloud to stop working (and much user outrage) - they then reversed the changes they made for these apps to work and the ‘undesired’ effect was it overwhelmed their cloud servers.
There is still work going on behind the scenes as the 3rd party apps will soon get their own private access to their cloud servers so they can get back to the position they want to be in with measured cloud access by authorised applications.
There will be another Foxess live session on 5th February 2024 at 17:00 where Foxess will give an update on all of this - keep an eye out for the invitation.
