Hi
After downloading the most recent version (v1.50.1) of the app a few days ago I’ve not been able to get access to the section which allows me to pre set forced charging to take advantage of cheap off peak electricity.
Internet connection is fine with the the new home page showing power in & out in real time, but nothing obvious to take me to the battery settings page. Any suggestions?

At the bottom of the new home page, you should have three buttons, the middle one ‘device’ should take you to device page where you can click on your inverter which takes you to the Real Time Data & battery screens.
If all else fails, you can log in with your credentials at the
www.foxesscloud.com website and administer it there.

This works but very infrequently. It’s quite frustrating and not very intuitive, hopefully there will soon be an update to make it more user friendly.

Thanks for your advice. Sorted now.
Without doing anything, as if by magic, a new box has appeared (after a week) with “commission time” and “today’s output” info which takes me to to the areas which I hadn’t been able to access before. My guess is that there was something that needed setting or adjusting at my installers end.

Since latest App update, the settings for Force Charge the battery and the SOC settings reset to zero. We want to take advantage of cheap electricity during the night. I have to leave the App 'page' open on my phone overnight. Otherwise no charge. I also have problems confirming the re entered settings as these 'Time Out'. All this has happened since the updated App format.

I've heard a couple of reports of timeouts over the last few days, I imagine Fox support were probably on it this morning when they got back in.
Your app only writes the settings to the inverter when you update them, thereafter you can close the app and the inverter will remember it's settings until you go back into the app and update them again. If the app is losing the settings, I would suggest you force close it and restart at which point it will re-read the settings from the inverter - if they are still blank it's more likely the cloud problem (timeout) you have mentioned which should be sorted soon.
One thing to add you can't use the battery charge settings if you have a strategy or schedule set as it will reset them each day when it runs (if you don't use the schedules ignore this)
If you have access to the Inverter front panel and want to check what it is doing, you can get to the charge times by clicking on Settings, Work Mode, Charge Time
It will show P1 & P2 charge times (00:00) if not set, and will say 'En' for enable if you have one set to charge from grid, or 'Dis' if you have no grid charge set
(see attached, this shows charge period 1 is set to grid charge from 23:30 to 05:29, period 2 not set)

Had no luck setting battery charge in the app the last week or so, the web site is erroring a lot, but sometimes working, but today, not at all, used the 'Energy Stats' app and although erroring and appearing to fail, it has just changed the times, so something at least.
The overall unreliability of the FoxESS cloud infrastructure is as good an advert as anything for local control by default. Now to upgrade my HA install so I can set the charge locally.

The App is going from bad to worse. We can no longer access the inverter on Apple. Android phone App loses settings and 'times out' when trying to save settings. It is costing us money as we cannot guarantee the battery will charge during the cheap rate. Nor can we guarantee the SOC will not drop to 0%, potentially damaging the battery. The old App was reliable. This updated version is rubbish. Fox must have known there were problems and should not have released this update without fully testing it. I am not holding my breath that the 'rectifying' update due at the end of January will solve the problems. According to our solar installation company, there are many angry customers with the same issues.

If you're charging during the same time every night, you can set that on the front panel, along with the Min SoC parameter. Not to say that their infrastructure shouldn't be more reliable, it absolutely should, but you do have local control to fall back on, as well.
