Hi all

This time of year with sunnier days I would normally set my Batterys to Force Charge during the cheap energy period BUT with the 'Charge From Grid' toggle Disabled.

This means the batterys dont discharge into my car when it is charging but also dont Charge from the grid as the sun is charging the batterys in the day.

This year after an app update this toggle for Charge from Grid is still present but doesnt stop the batterys from charging from the grid. The toggle can be set to enable or disable and it still charges from the grid.

I have spoken to Foxess Support and they said they are aware of this and are planning for it to be fixed, possibly in April.

Does anyone have a work around that does not require rewiring the system?

For example would setting the SOC to 90% during the hours of EV charging achieve the same goal.

Thanks in advance.

Don't you just touch on it to enable it?

It doesn't matter if its enabled or disabled it still charges from the grid.

Can you expand on your tariff information?

I presume you charge the car on a cheap overnight rate, and you would normally charge up the house battery at the same time? Do you then change this behaviour when it gets sunnier so that you charge up your battery from the solar?

Do you have export payments? If yes, then can you tell us your price for cheap night rate and your export price please.
If your night rate is lower than your export rate in the day, it would be better to charge the battery in full, and export solar at the higher payment amount.

The other choice is to wait for the next few months to await Firmware updates from Fox.

After much back and forth with Foxess Helpdesk, Alex persevered and did a great job, there is a way around this issue.

Firstly disable the Work Scheduler in the app - Go to the app - Click on Work Mode - Click on Blue Opposing Arrows in top right corner - select Self Use. This turns off Work Scheduler in the app and prevents the 44096 error when setting the Forced Charge in the Desktop website.

- Using Version 1 Desktop foxesscloud.com go into your Inverter Details screen
- Click on the Red Bubbles to the right of Battery Status

- A window will open to set your times for a Forced Charge
- Set your times

- Enable or disable charge from Grid
- Save

These settings will not appear in your app
If you get a 44096 error its because your Work Scheduler in the app is still enabled or basically not set to Self Use

This is far from ideal and who knows when V1 of the website will be pulled but works for now I guess.
