Fox Battery Heating Issues - ongoing

I thought I would start a new thread on this, as the current "ongoing" thread is now growing and growing ... and wanted to understand how many people are facing issues with the battery heater .. withouth people having to read over 7 pages already

For info .. the "large" thread is ...viewtopic.php?t=1603

The basics is that .. the heater on the Fox EP batteries .. has issues. When the heater kicks in (when no solar excess is available), the battery does not seem to be able discharge, and pulls from the grid to satisfy the house load. In the thread above, I have provided screenshots and evidence .. and these have been sent to Fox Support so many times now. I was upgraded to v1.09, then to v1.011 and after chasing Fox this morning ... my battery was sent a firmware with v0.013 as the number. I queried this with Fox, and they said "that is the correct and latest one"

This Saga just seems to be going on and on .. and lots of people on the original thread, also having same issue

Ref this thread https://foxesscommunity.com/viewtopic. ... 292#p12292 it might be worth setting the ImportLimitPwr correctly, if the inverter is honouring the setting with this set to 0, when the battery needs power from the grid it wouldn’t be allowed to take it, and all your house load would be taken from grid which seems to be what you are seeing.

I am honestly losing the will with Fox, their latest comment seems to go against the video Will posted only a month ago .. https://www.youtube.com/@iameccles/videos ... where he states that the battery can heat from itself if above 40%

Fox are saying ... that it is "only" possible if you also have the "warm from grid" enabled .. then it can do "what it wants" .. either from battery or grid ..... At peak electricity time, I do not want to pull from grid

I have my grid settings as per the IOG cheap window of 23:30 to 05:29 set.

I have seen it many times pull PV power to warm up... but NEVER seen it work on a dull day, so the self-consumption to heat has never worked for me, and this is when SoC is always above 90%.

So it can use PV outside of the grid window, but the self-consumption is broken on 1.009 and 1.011

Sadly this is the case, they can only improve it from here.
