Panels not communicating with batteries
Hi,

Apologies in advance, I am brand new to the world of solar panels and batteries and currently trying to learn how it all works.

We have recently had SolarEdge panels and inverter installed alongside Fox batteries and inverter. This was part of a rural energy grant and so we could not choose what was installed (not complaining).

However, we appear to be having issues with the 2 systems (solar and battery) not communicating with each other. We have 2 separate apps for each system. The Fox app does not show any solar panels or any solar power whatsoever. It appears that the batteries are only charging off the grid as when the batteries are charging, our usage on the smart meter increases drastically. Within the SolarEdge app, the panels are definitely consuming solar energy but I assume it’s just being given back to the grid. We are not on a tariff yet so we aren’t making anything from this.

Is there anyone who knows how to fix this and get the solar panels charging up the batteries? Ideally, we would also like it showing within one app if possible.

Now that the system is installed, we are unable to get hold of the grant company and we have no contact details for the actual installers as all self employed. Unfortunately we didn’t ask for their details when they turned up.

I have attached a screenshot of the Fox app and the SolarEdge app.

Thanks!

Tim

Re: Panels not communicating with batteries
You'll need your installer to add a CT2 ct module around the ac output of the solaredge and enabled it within the fox system so show live solar data within the fox app.
