Load is low, but some grid power is still being used?

Hi all

I have recently got registered and have been looking on this forum to get started. Apologies if this question has been asked before. :-)

One thing I have noticed is that the load in the evening can be as low as 0.5kw, and my battery (which is 5.2kw) could cover this...I believe the invertor can handle up to 3.7kw so this should completely power everything...but a small amount is still drawn from the grid?

Have I not set something correctly, possibly a minimum for the grid?

Thanks in advance.

I always see trickle grid usage even when batteries are full. I put it down to a combination of the accuracy of the systems not being 100% and that the smart meter itself runs off the grid and cannot pull from the battery.

Thanks, that makes sense.

Looking more closely this morning, I'm seeing the same thing, but at higher KW ratings. I have put the kettle on (which is less than 3KW and therefore within the capacity of the invertor), but although this could be powered by the battery it's still taking about 0.5KW from the grid. I'm sure I need to fine-tune my invertor settings! :D
