Re: Battery not importing from grid
Ah brilliant - thanks! Just watching the you-tube on the subject having just found it - needs to be front page of the forum methinks!!

Maybe another thread about temperatures of batteries - we've had a rude awakening to temp problems, now mostly sorted with heating mats, but given current weather in the UK, I think a lot of folk would benefit.

Thanks again for the help!

Dave Foster wrote: Mon Jan 12, 2026 9:53 am If you've had a recent firmware upgrade, it's worth checking to see if that has reset your import power limit, check that at your inverter panel, in Settings (password =0,0,0,0), on-grid, Export Control and see if you have an item called ImportLimitPwr - if you have what is it set to ? (should be at least 6000 watts)
Was just looking through some of the forum posts, and came across this one ..... I have never "checked" this setting before, as everything has been working (apart from battery heatint issues). I have had a few firmware updates over the last week or so ... so took a look .. and mind is showing, as below ... should I be setting this? What is this preventing?

Re: Battery not importing from grid
It should be measuring your grid CT clamp, and can be used to throttle the Inverter if needed so that you don't pop your main incoming grid fuse. Well that is my understanding of the function.

I have 17.4kW G99 import limit, inverter set to *14/15kW (where yours shows 00000)
*I went outside and cannot remember value now

For reference, KH7 Inverter has 60.9 Amp AC limit (set to 60 Amp on inverter) and 14000W of power at 230V

Hopefully Dave can come along and let us know exact function.

This setting controls the maximum amount of power the inverter is allowed to demand from the grid, when set to zero it won’t be able to take anything, so you won’t get any battery charging, i’m guessing no battery heating from grid also (but that has a mind all of it’s own).

On a normal system it should never be set to 0, at a minimum it should be set to the same size as your inverter in watts, but often bigger if you have EV’s, water heaters or heat pumps fitted - in essence whatever the size of your incoming fuse is i.e. 80A multiple that by 253V.
if you have no reason to limit the demand from your grid, it really should be set as high as it will let you, the default (not set) is supposed to be 30,000 although this doesn’t seem to work on all firmware versions and so you may want to set a value as high as you can such as 15000 (watts).

Thanks Dave for your valuable input again.
Re: Battery not importing from grid
Thanks Dave, thats interesting ... as have had the system running since March and not had any issues with charging the batterys, and they charged fine last night ... although ..... I have had a battery firmware (0.013) sent this morning (you can read about that in my other threads), so wonder if part of that firmware update .. reset the inverter ... although .. just checking and the inverter firmware has not changed .. weird

Yes it’s possible, this parameter has only been added in recent firmware updates and appears to have not been set to a default level, although we’ve seen some strange values like 24W, 140W etc.. - all very strange, just another thing to rule out ;)
Re: Battery not importing from grid
Thanks Dave .. so we have (I believe) a 100A fuse .. so times by 253 .. could set that value to 25300?
Re: Battery not importing from grid
Just enable charge from grid for 10 mins to test .. and all seems to be charging fine

Yes, all it’s really doing is measuring how much power the house is using and deciding whether it can draw power itself to run it’s charger and not exceed the ‘demand’ limit, very much like EV chargers do they will throttle back if the maximum power limit is in danger of being exceeded. If you have a 100A fuse you won’t have any demand issues and so this setting should be set as high as possible.
Re: Battery not importing from grid
That earlier post (with screenshots) was withouth changing anything on the inverter ... so with the 00000 set ... should that have worked?

Technically no, it shouldn't have worked… but there is also an ImportLimitCur (usually set to 100A) which may be taking precedence - are you running latest inverter firmware ?
