Sharing for general awareness for people looking to use thrid part ev batteries with their fox inverter for advanced users only.

While watching a video by Cory Mac on his channel https://www.youtube.com/@corymac I noticed that while quoting a good source of canbus information from a discord server called Dala's EV I spotted Foxess-Inverter channel.
So I signed up to Dala's Patreon to access the discord server https://www.patreon.com/dala/posts and noticed a number of people had successfully got a fox inverter working with generic and EV batteries by using a BMS emulator.

This is extremely good...

Would it be "wrong" to pour some of that knowledge in here?

If anyone is interesting in writing their own BMS, some time ago I had a stab at documenting the Canbus protocol, and also the RS485 inter-pack protocol, it's early days and the battery pack range has expanded considerably since, but it's a start.

Not at all, this subforum for canbus stuff is what I had planned for this area of the forum. Feel free to use the space for the benefit of all fox owners.
