Ac1 inverter data to Home Assistant help

HI, I recently purchased an FoxEss AC1-3.7-E-G2 inverter. This is currently connected to the FoxEss cloud via a FoxEss datalogger type W4 (photo 3) . I have Home Assistant set up to receive the battery inverter data but I find this being received much to slow.

I know that there are several other ways of getting the data into home assistant quicker but I'm a completely lost.

I went to the store where the FoxEss inverter is on display and see that (under a small panel cover) (photo 1) there are both COM and DRM ports however the small panel cover (photo 2) on my inverter has marked DRM, parallel 1 and parallel 2 I haven't removed the panel cover yet (very tight access). If these ports are accessable can I use them or do I need to unplug the datalogger and connect from there to home assistant if so using what cable. I have a ethernet hub close by.

There is talk in other literature about a "usr-w610 rs485 to lan adapter" if I need this where does it plug into?

Hi, as you say the cloud is based on a 5 minute resolution which is the data interval that the datalogger 'dongle' sends the data to the cloud.

The DRM/Parallel ports are actually CANbus ports but they are specific to the inverter functions such as BMS / parallel operation (when linked to multiple inverters).

What you need to connect is an RS485 cable to the Meter/CT connector - I wouldn't recommend the USRW610 it's very slow, for wifi look at the Elfin EW11 but there are also USB RS485 adapters that work well.

There is a link here https://github.com/nathanmarlor/foxess_modbusto the RS485 home assistant integration and this link takes you to the wiki page which has wiring guides https://github.com/nathanmarlor/foxess_ ... ring-Guide and information on adapters it has been tested with.

Dave thanks for information.
A little above my pay grade, I thought it would be a simple plugin and bob's your uncle and away we go.
Will have to think about this and see if I can get someone to help with this.
Regards

It is a bit fiddly and often the CT wires that already run to it will break whilst you are doing it - but if you go carefully and stay calm, it's not as bad as it sounds.

A lot of the installers will be asked for this when they are fitting the system, so yours might be able to help - but if you have someone with electrical experience it should be a doddle for them.
